I need the screws to hold the outside and inside peices together anyone got part #'s or demensions...iam pretty sure the standard 1/4x20 torx dont work and thats what my dealer thinks i need

10-32 1/2" long. Any hardware store in the US will have something that works. I just put mine on last weekend. Used black allen heads so they wouldn't stand out...

Hey guys! Absolutley great thread man, thanks Joel9. I too looked at these prior, but shy about the bucks. Just ordered mine through Dales Harley in Marion IL for 56 bucks total, inc. bolts. Chicago Harley about same price now as well. My XB12R is in shop having swingarm replaced (warrenty), so about the time these parts arrive i should be pickin the bike up! Going to be great this summer--damn thigh used to get red spots from the heat! Thanks again man!

Just ordered mine from local HD shop. Unfortionatly it was 60 bucks plus 5 for shipping. Three weeks shipping time.

Have had a few 90 degree days here in Vb so I have no problem paying the extra cash for compfort.

I also ordered the right scoop for a 2010 XB12R, seems smaller and might blend a bit better. Even having ordered the comfort kit for the XB9, if I dont like it I might have another option. 15 bucks, what the hell right?

Just ordered the scoops + header heat shield from Surdyke for $83 shipped. Kinda glad this thread got bumped. I took my new Lightning out this weekend and noticed the fan ran quite a bit and it cooked my ass a bit too.

Between those 3 parts and the heat blankets from specialops I'll be set.

Not sure if anyone posted it already, but the heatshield is p/n: S0175.5AK ($35.96) and then you just use a couple worm clamps from your local auto store to scure it to the header pipe.

Talked to Harley my scoop should come in Wed. three plus weeks since ordered. I live in a vacation spot and the traffic was horrid over memorial day weekend, lots of stand still traffic and my bike does not like to sit while running. Man my thigh took a beating!

Depending on this scoop to help any bit it can.

I've also been waiting for 3wks from Surdyke. Supposed to ship 6/2 ... but who knows. I also ordered the rear cylinder header heat shield from the Uly comfort kit too.

Trying to get ahold of Odie from specops too. I ordered the heat blankets 3-4 weeks ago and not heard anything.

I have a 07 XB12Scg and saw a thread asking if they need to be ECM Flashed. Does anyone know if this is true. Looking at getting the comfort kit just want to know if it needs to be done or not.

So Harley, basically said thay have no clue where my scoop is[mad].
Everytime I talk to them they say the tracking info says it is packed ready to ship.
In two days it will be two weeks since they told me that, I also need a new belt but buell parts or asb will be getting my money from now on!
