Buellxb.com has acquired BuellForums.com

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

omg....all that info lost on BuellForums.com

I was a mod there, Jet-Lee. Why weren't the mods even told of this? I would have bought it and hosted it.

@SoulHamster - The purchase agreement was for the domain only, but we may be able to recover the archives. There is no easy way to merge the databases. We'd love to have you here on Buellxb.com. I am committed to this forum for the long haul and have been since 2006. We're not going anywhere.

Feel free to PM me with brutally honest feedback on why you chose to commit your time to BuellForums.com as opposed to Buellxb.com.

The BuellXB name is all over already and to rebrand it I feel would be a large mistake.

Up to now I haven't even heard of buellforum.com can't say I look at the other Buell forums so take it for what it is worth. It I know the BuellXB name is all over the web especially since you work in SEO for a living.

Clearly the overwhelming consensus is to stick with Buellxb.com. That's what we'll do.

I hope we can find other ways to make Buellxb.com more inviting to non-XB model owners.

PM sent.

Mostly shocked that it was sold without anything being said to the staff in the least.

The amount of information there is irreplaceable.

Buell and successful. Hmm that's like an oxymoron. hahaha.. I crack myself up.

Bottom line.  Buellxb is more successful.   Nuff said!

I gotta disagree. I wouldn't say one is more successful than the other. BF.com saw quite a bit of day-to-day traffic with a pretty solid and reliable group of members that could solve most any issue with a Blast.

I would vote to keep both forums. Rename BuellForums.com to BlastForums.com and retain the Blast forum there. Move all the XB and 1125 info here or just keep it in archive.

There was a LOT of info for the Buell Blast over there. Many of us have devoted soo much of our time to these little bikes, now that information is gone. Keep BuellXB here, but a Blast is not an XB. If I didn't see this forum mentioned on CentralValleyRiders.com, I would've never found it.

The BuellXB name is pretty straightforward, and the Blast is not an XB. There's just not the logical connection to come here for a non-XB motorcycle.

Sorry, but that's me.

-Edit-
I know GoDaddy keeps forum databases for 30 days after a hosting account goes inactive.

I'm a member of both sites and there are a few reasons I preferred to use BuellForums.com versus BuellXB.com.

First, the user interface and experience, in my opinion, on BuellForums.com blows BuellXB.com away. There is simply no comparison. I know there are committed members to BuellXB.com, but the way I look at this interface, it is just another simply placed functional forum. Nothing special. As for the BuellForums.com interface, I have not found a forum, yet, that offers even remotely the positive and interactive user interface experience.

I would not know for sure what the search analytics were for BuellForums.com, but if you were a Blast owner, that was the place to be. The amount of information on there was priceless. If you could recover all of that information, I'd be extremely grateful. As for the other bikes, it was very limited. That being said, if you want a Buell Forum, I say go with BuellForums.com.

Or, take the BuellForums.com interface and Rebrand it to BuellXB. Either way you go, if you can, use the BuellForums.com interface.

I can't believe the BuellForums.com owner didn't even notify us. Seriously, that information was priceless. Years of knowledge has potentially been erased. Get that information!!! It is way too valuable to lose. Even more for me and the other members of BuellForums.com.

I'm basically begging for you to transfer all that information to here successfully.

fml.

I agree with JSD, the user experience of BF.com was next-to-none.

All you BXB guys, imagine it the other way around.

Imagine BuellForums.com bought BuellXB and you lost all the information you have here, but gained a butt-load of info on the Blast. What good does that do you?

Because you had no need to, you had all your information right here. We had our information there. Usually, one site doesn't talk about the competitor sites because they don't want to lose their own traffic. It's not a bad thing. This was the XB site, that was the Blast site. If you didn't have a Blast, I wouldn't expect you to necessarily know about it.

@just_some_dude - Really sorry for the inconvenience. I'll do everything I can to save the archives and keep them living here. Maybe I can setup blast.buellxb.com for the archives.

I would prefer that the future of any forum conversations would live on Buellxb.com. I will take any and all suggestions to improve the Blast section of our forum. I am also more than willing to listen to any specific features you liked about the other forum platform. This platform is designed to be fast loading. Over the years we've added PM functionality, image hosting, ratings and rankings, more thorough profile options, etc.

Let me know the list of features you really want and use and I'll consider adding them.

If the blast guys are redirected here then they will post and generate discussion on the xb site. Search engines will return searches with links to these discussion on buellxb.

And as the community grows, it will again be the "place to be" for blast guys.

There should be a way however to archive the buellforums threads. It could be a different portal accessed through buellxb. As long as its searchable, I dont see why that wouldn't be a good option.

I'll spend the next couple days pulling cached content from my browsers and copy/pasting it into new threads in the Blast sections.

I've also sent an email to old owner requesting the database.

I tried to get onto buellforums.com just to check out the forum layout, and if it's anything like bimmeforums.com, diyaudio.com/forums, clubtouareg.com - that would get my vote. The User control Panel here is weak to say the least, including the search (although it's pretty easy to search with google). Posting pictures and videos is also easier on other sites - that's just my 2cents.

On the other hand, the home page that lists ALL the new threads is pretty handy. Except when more traffic arrives and the number of "new" threads gets longer and longer - not a big deal though.

I'm a member to both site also your only getting feedback mostly from BuellXB members alot of buellforums members are not members here an don't know what happen to the site.

Be nice to sticky an announcement on the top of your home page on this matter.

It be nice to put the buellforums site backup and ask the same question you are here an see the feedback you get from it's members to make it fair.

And totally agree with Just_Some_Dude The info in the Blast part of the site is priceless!!!!
