Didn't realize that I never created an introductory thread.

I've been riding for about 25 years and of all the bikes I've owned, my favorite so far was my 2004 XB12S that I ended up selling to buy a Ducati S4R. The Buell is still my favorite.

After several other bikes, I'm back to the Buell world. I picked up a somewhat neglected 2006 XB12R with crappy, painted plastics in black. Looks like they painted it in a sand storm.

After performing all the maintenance, primary oil, engine oil, primary chain adjust, NGK plugs, brake pads, flush and new brake fluid, etc, etc.

I wanted something different, so I ordered a full set of white plastics.

Tomorrow I'll be putting it all together to create a creamsicle Buell. White with orange wheels, hand controls, and etc. Woo hoo! I'll also be installing a Corbin seat and it already has a Special O.P.S. pipe.

Big fan of the "creamcsicle" Buells. My old 08 STT .

I don't know, the amber is more of a yellow to me. the sunset orange wheels would look more "creamsicle". should look cool either way[up]

Translucent amber and white is the creamsicle color combo.

Where did you hear that? or did you just make that up? just curious. and cgo, can't wait to see a pic of the brand new plastics[up]

Heard it back in 2006 when i bought my first Buell which was black/ amber and was told I oughta change out my black to white for a creamsicle color combo and last year when I tagged Erik Buell on his Facebook with the picture in my previous post and he responded by saying he really liked my bike and the creamsicle color treatment. Friends of mine have refered to it as creamsicle also without me saying anything. [smirk]

Welcome back, bro! I love the character of our Buells! I have a '05 XB12R, gold on blue.

About time you make your intro. Let's see some pics of that bike. Hopefully I will get my knee healed back up so we can do some riding!

Yep, I saw your bikes when I was thinking of the color combo. They look great!

Still waiting for the chin fairing to come in, but after a lot of work here it is:

Considered the Amber BUELL air box decals, but thought I'd try the new EBR ones for a while. I added a Uly right side scoop and have some amber short levers on order to bring in a little more orange.

Lots of cleaning, replaced the plugs with NGKs, changed over to a K&N, added the Gripster pads, Mobile 1 V-Twin in the swing arm, HD Super+ in the primary, new brake pads, new brake fluid, installed LED turn signals and EP36 flasher (which works great by the way), etc, etc. Nothing like installing brand new, shiny plastics!!

I also had to make some weld repairs to the Special O.P.S. pipe. Some of the end welds weren't great and there were some holes or gaps where he didn't continue all the way with the weld bead. Exhaust was shooting out all over the place around the end of the muffler. I took a grinder to it, re-welded about 2 inches of it, then painted it with some matching hi temp header paint. Good as new.

Bike runs good, but my forks are a bit twisted. I'm going to loosen the fork pinch bolts and front wheel and get 'er all aligned properly. It's just a fraction, but enough to bother me.

Lemme know what ya think of the Creamsicle.

Extreme, get that knee back together soon!

Man that turned out great. I'm really digging the EBR decals. I guess your still waiting on your new levers.

That is a nice looking bike. I dig the color scheme.

I wouldn't have put austrian propaganda on your Harley Davidson sportbike airbox cover though.

Hey cgo, where did you get your turn signals? were they plug and play? Also do you have the link to where you got your white plastics? Bike looks good. I'm going white and red.

I agree with this but not for the same reason. It is a Buell not a EBR. I like it other than the stickers. [up]
