Damn I hope that's not it... I hope it was just low on gas.... like I said as soon as I filled up it went away a little bit later took 3 gallons of gas.... but when the light came on before it didn't carry on like that ..... Idk I just checked it with ecmspy and no codes were set all the maps look OK I mean nothing funny..... maybe I should really weld her up ..... maybe that's part of it too.....

The more i study your design and compare to other systems im More inclined to believe exactly as i suggested, you have 2 very large chambers in sequance that allows gas to expand thus slowing your flow speed, then pushed into a smaller diameter/restriction slowed even more, and again large long chamber expands and slows, then exits smaller diameter creating one last bump, flow has stopped at that point entill next pulse bumps it out.
Posted early, bet it cleared up after the ECM adjusted the fuel tables to compensate.

Even besides the second muffler being fake do you think I should flip them? And have the muffler right before the exit?

The second chamber is a solid pipe no holes into the chamber? and yes id have the packed/large chamber on the exit side.

Yes solid pipe look at previous pictures.... now the muffler is a perforated tube and has no packing in it yet.....

What's your reasons for putting the muffler at the very end?

Also elaborating on your theory the pipe is.just tacked together.... so there are leaks everywhere I didn't even think of what you said and the pipe not being sealed till you said it..... I was trying to see how it sounded before I welded it solid..... guess I have to weld her up.

That way the hot gas velocity is fast the majority of its travel, enters chber slows down then exits, vs slowing down 18" before the exit and forcing fast flowing exhaust to smash into it thus causing an air dam and restricting your system.

There are a lot of other factors you could consister such as heat, higher exhaust temps mean higher velocity, bends cause reverberation, the amount of expansion and how much thetemperature drops, even the length of your pipe could cause a cooling effect especially with open seems rushing air in. That along could make it run funky. Last thing you wanna do is slow your flow, only time you add baffels or chambers is to actually increase velocity. Dean has a link somewhwre thats very informative maybe PM d_dams about the link

So I rode to work this morning and it ran great.... no hiccups no missing no backfires...... I don't get it ..... maybe it was that low on gas..... but why didn't the low fuel light come on at home when I was idling and reving to test the pipe? Oh well all's good.

Sounds good... not loud but has a beautiful Harley rumble. And don't get me wrong it can be loud if you want it lol....

Before I weld it up I'm gonna flip the muffler and try that and also packed and in packed.....

So I got it all welded up tonight and packed the muffler.... it actually got louder.... although I'm not happy with the packing..... I'm going to order some better packing or possibly steel wool.

Man it sounds really good. I left it the way it was with muffler on the left side right after the header. I'm going to try it on the other side as well but I'm happy with the results. It runs good and pulls hard through the bottom end to the top. I like it!!!!!

I'll let you know what happens with the reverse side of the muffler when I flip it......

Next project.....a possible force exhaust copy lol :D

Don't use regular steel wool...very flammable make sure you get stainless steel wool if you are gonna go that route for packing I'm currently building a pipe and I was gonna use stainless steel wool but found a product that I liked better....ceramic wool... should never burn out at least from what I read and it's pretty inexpensive too...good luck on the rest of your build!

Yeah I meant stainless steel wool...

Idk I gotta flip the muffler to the exit side...... it sounds great the way it is but breaks up pretty bad around 5800 rpm and struggles to pull through 6000 rpm... I think it is the reason stated above..... if I can't figure it out with some simple tuning I'm gonna scrap the whole project and build a d&d look alike or a force

If you really want to know what its doing, you need a set of wideband O2 sensors installed, both front and rear.

Not exactly reference material, but you get the idea. http://www.rbracing-rsr.com/exhausttech.htm

There's a link to some wideband info on their site as well, I bought a dual PLX-devices setup for my 1125, but amd going to try out a set of Innovate MTX-L's on my xb.

MTXL_All_Web.jpg

How keep them wired in with the ecm then? Also can you swap a wide band out for the stock one? I have to do some research on this

I'm also wondering if this exhaust is even a good idea..... yeah it looks cool but there is a reason why no one else makes them and not one other motorcycle I have ever seen has a reverse exhaust on it.... Idk starting to make me wonder....

Look for freespirits RS 404 reverso these guys invented the system (I think) together with HP CORSE Italian ehxaust manufactor and until then no other exhaust system got a bigger hp gain at the wheel after they stop making it other company's or craftmans still make it it's about making the gases travel a longer distance inside the pipe it's kind of the same thing like Buell made on the XB12 with the exhaust valve actuator it shore is different and changes the performance of the bike but not necessary a bad thing

Yeah exactly what was said earlier my muffler is on the wrong side which is probably affecting he power and its hitting a was at 5500 and can't over come it....
