I wonder if the airbox cover will fit my XB?.....

I looked at pictures of the old 1190 and definitely don't see any way it would fit. The frame and airbox are shaped differently. It would definitely look good on my bike though!

i dig it. this bike is sick. i wish he would have recessed the bottom headlight under the windscreen as well.

i can't belive there is not a front on picture of it.
Cool bike dam thats alot of $$$$$$
Would love to have one of the first 100 bet a few never get ridden just stuck away for a collection.
Not likeing the straight on headlight .
Took awhile to get to likeing the big wide 1125r fairing.
Dam epa made him build a fugly muffler.

I think it's F-in SEXY! Ditch the mufflers and run a single can under slung, tidy up those tail lights and it would be near perfect, except ya, the lower projector light should have been under the screen too. But other then those tiny details that are more of our governments fault rather than Eriks' taste I Love it!

Love it!

And what I love more is the last paragraph...

EBR just announced a three-year sponsorship agreement with Amsoil that will see Geoff May back on the 1125RR at Daytona, and on the 1190RS in time for the Infineon round in Sonoma, May 13-15

Way to go Erik and crew!!!

FKHD!

I like the proportions a lot. I don't care much for the muffler; something ending low, MotoGP-esque would have been more to my taste. I suspect that if that bike meets noise regulations, most of the "muffling" is going on behind the bellypan.

The wheels are definitely 4-star sexy.

Although it's the author's conjecture, I'm most encouraged by this passage:
And also be assured that Erik Buell doesn’t plan on being in just the boutique sport bike business; he intends to follow these $40,000-plus machines with more affordable versions. But as the first products of EBR, it shows what Mr. Buell can do unencumbered by Harley bureaucracy and product planning.

So, I suppose we've all got time to save up.

after seeing the headon front view of the bike the mirrors will have to go... those bug antlers are fugly as... also would change the inline headlight for 2 side on headlights like the xb lightnings or even go for a single VW bettle style headlight.

i know Erik is trying to make the bike more aerodynamic for the track but he's lost all style in what makes a Buell a Buell. imo it looks like every other jap bike on the market. given the frame is still a buell signature i notice he's gone awaw from the oil in the swing arm, also another buell signature.

i can tell you once i get my hands on one, first thing is it will be going naked, also i'll be changing the front end, get rid of those ugly mirrors and changing the muffler for the under slung signature Buell muffler. that is everything i love a bout the uniqueness of a buell...

not everyone will feel the same but thats my 2 cents...

Under slung exhaust, IT'S ALREADY THERE, LOOK AT IT. It contains two catylist, that fugly side muffler was added after the original under slung muffler was already designed and sound level regulations changed before the bike was released. So it was added to meet regulations. I bet the two pipes coming out of the under muffler were supposed to be dual tip outlets and stop there.

Oil in the swing arm? That existed on the XB because the Harley Dinosaur pushrod engine needed a separate oil tank unlike most modern engines. He put it in the swing arm so he could keep the swing arm pivot close to the engine and keep the wheel base short, otherwise the oil tank would have been in the way or would have to been mounted high. If he kept the oil in the swingarm in the 1125 and 1190 he would have added weight, complexity, several potential spots for leaks and more un-sprung weight. All for the novelty of it?

This bike is a form follows function more so then any other street legal Buell made to date. Mind you, the function portion is to haul ass and win races, the form is make it street legal.

He is a racer at heart and this is his RACE BIKE uninhibited by bureaucratic Bull ****. He didn't make this street legal to remain "Buell-ish", he made it street legal because he needs a certain amount of production bikes to be able to race in the classes he wants too. It is also a mini step in the direction of being a full blown manufacture. It also was a response to everyone wanting one of his race bikes to be street legal. It will also generate revenue for EBR to move onto bigger things (more affordable bikes for the masses and probably a naked bike)

all i hear from most of the posts on here is its one ugly bike...

im guessing most people on here love the naked street bike looks and so do i...

dont get me wrong the 1190RS is a mastery or engineering and Erik has pulled it off like we knew he would.

but personally i want a naked no ******** street bike. no fairings, no noise regulations or emissions limitations, just raw dirty riding power.

no one can legally use the 1190RS to its full potential unless on a track...

So take everything off :) Erik wants his bikes to be competitive and fairings improve aerodynamics. Hopefully he will come out with a street fighter version.
