Not sure when I will get a chance to do this, but I'm really wanting to do a ground up build of a Ferrari or Lambo kit car. Seems that it will cost me between 30-50k to do so it would be a long project. Which one do you think would be a better build?

I want to do a good job and have a weekend driver/special occasion ride. If I do the Labmo it would def be convertable. I hate the kit cars that are based on Fiero's or MR2s so this will be literally built ground up with a tub chassis and v12 engine. I mean, if you goning to replicate something why would you have a V6 or V8 in a car that comes with a V12?

What do you guys think? Which one or waste of time and money?

Would definitely be fun to do. Go Ferrari! Completely agree a kit car with a weak engine is the lowest form of flattery. Have at least a LITTLE bit of power to back-up the looks.

Personally, when I've seen an Aston Martin drive by I'm a bit unimpressed compared to a lambo or ferrari. This is just something I've wanted to do for a long time now, I was saving up for it, then had to buy a car, then bought my buells, then I went into debt. haha, love how things work out.

ive narrowed it down to a diablo, murcielago or ferrari with a beefed up 4-cyl turbo. the 12's are smooth and strong, but with a kit car why not go with a stroked out 4-cyl turbo?

Just a Mitsubishi TD04-L-16GK turbocharger pressurizing the intake manifold of a 2.4-liter SOHC 16-valve four enough to raise its output from 150 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque to 215 horsepower and 245 pound-feet

have the look & half the power for less $$$

but, now days u can find a used diablo for under 100K

+1 on the factory five, but if I had to choose between the Ferrari or Lambo I would go with the Lambo.

Well, the Ferrari has glass over the engine, so I don't want a fake cover to make it a v12, and on the lambo, well i want a v12. May even turbo those if I want to get a little crazy with it.

Well if you don't like Aston Martin how about Bentley... If James Bond din't drive it in an Ian flemming novel its not worth over 60k :D but I do lust over a few Ferrari

Ferrari[up]. i have never been a huge fan of lambos. I would build a cobra but that wasnt your question.

Dude! If you have 35-50k laying around, why not just buy the real deal and get it over with?

I don't have a bike right now, well, I do but it's sitting in the basement.... I can crank it and thats really all.

and cause I don't what that, also, a realy Ferrai costs a ton for insurance especially for me, plus they aren't cheap to maintain and to keep them in proper running condition they have to be serviced very regularly.

why would you have a V6 or V8 in a car that comes with a V12

Why not? A built and boosted LS series motor will kill any ebay V-12 engine you can find and it will be smaller and cheaper to maintain if costs are a concern.

I'd go for the Ultima GTR if I wasn't married.
