Maybe you could have a bank angle switch on each light, so when you lean, it turns on that light. Also, when in a lean, the lights in your diagram will be lighting up the ground under you. I think you want them inverted 180 degrees.

hi Pockets, i live in New Zealand and alot of the fun twisties are back country roads with no street lights or cats eye's. so good lights is a must.

ok i have been working on a new diagram all morning after i looked at over 50 vehicle lighting mod diagrams on the net and have come up with this one... most of them were 4x4 lighting diagrams, so hope this works.
let me know what you guys think...

cheers

hey Dave_XB12r, im not sure how well a mercury switch (bank angle switch, i think thats what they are called) would work as the gforces on a bike are diferent from in a car. in a car they would work very well as most of the 4x4 diagrams i looked at described because of the cars tendency to roll, but on a bike there is no roll the gforce keeps inline, next time your out riding get a paper cup and quarter to half fill it with water and the go for a ride. its the same effect if you put water in a bucket and swing it round and round... the water doesn't fall out of nor does the angle of the water change because of the direction of the gforce.

All I did was mount Piaa 1100x's where my turn signals used to be, and put them behind my forward vents.

I have them wired through a logic switch, activated with the high beam circuit.

two flashes, on two flashes off.

they work great.

yeah finally finished them, they came out great.

work really well. so well that my mate wanted me to ride in front so he could see where he was going with my lights lighting the way...

Ok well i got my HID's installed. Thanks again LV sleeper for the diagram of the delay which i used as well.

I did the single (low beam) 55w 6000k

What you are seeing in this fuzzy picture is where i mounted the ballast and the delay. Ballast is in between the head lights and the delay is just about the left light.

Yeah i was gonna put it behind on top of all the wires but i wanted to eliminate them bouncing around as much as possible. If the fairing shows signs of stress... ill be forced to shove them underneath.
Glad i only had to work with two!!

So I pulled apart the bolt last night to take a look what I was getting myself into. Decided too much wiring for me to start in the evening, but was wondering how the bulbs went in? Have a DDM kit 55w kit.

Do you keep the original bulb retainer & dremel off the rectangle/half oval that go into the original bulb notches, and use that to hold HID bulb down & seated flush?

Also what is the rubber grommet supposed to go into? Looks like I have to open the factory dust cap a little to get the wires through, so thinking it may be used to seal up any hole in the cap. Seen a number of HID installations on different forums, but can't find these answers.

Guess I'll try again Saturday though.

jaywalker, just did the DDM on mine. The rubber grommet can be cut off, you wont need it. The HID bulb with my kit went right in just like stock? As far as the factory dust cap, I just cut off the small extruded rectangle and squeezed the needed wires through the factory hole. Looks almost factory like that

Thanks.

Well got them done and they worked last night. Used one of the Worsten tech time delay relays. Damn the 55w are bright.

Guess I did something wrong though, since I noticed no low beam reflected in the car in front of me and felt warmth under my ass today. Pulled over and smelt something burning. The trigger wire had detached, and the whole relay was burnt. Was running a wire from the battery to the relay w/ inline 20a fuse, using the factory low beam as the input, factory ground wire. The fuse blew also on the inline. Pulled that wire off the battery.

Not sure if the trigger wire detaching was the cause. Re-read relay instructions & multiple threads multiple times. Not sure where I screwed up, but will try again, and hopefully bulb is fine

Hope you guys can help me. I just got the ddm setup for my 09bolt. I got it all wired in and used a cool interrupter switch instead of a delay. My only problem is when I turn the high beams on, the right (high beam) light comes on for a couple seconds then shuts off.

Any idea why this is occurring?
