^^^^ Agreed! Sounds like a bad ballast.

ucsbbuell, can you provide more info on the "interrupter"? Maybe a link.
I have the delay and I'm sure there are better options.

I went to pep boys to get a delay and they didn't have one. So instead I gota toggle switch and plugged it into the spare spot on the left side fuse box. Now I start the bike then hit the toggle to power the lights after the bike is started. I'll post pics once I get my new ballast and everything is hooked up.

Hey guys, loving this mod since I installed it last year. Lately I had a small issue, one of the ballast died due to not having a delay or switch. Anyway, I replaced the ballast and used the delay. As I modified both my headlights for Xenons I hadn't enough space left to insert the delay, the 2 xenon starters (the black thing attached to the ballast) and the ballast so I decided to make a bracket for the ballast which keeps it out of my way and out of sight. The starters will be placed above the lights.
I thought I'd share it here

Before I attached my ballast above my light but I always thought it was ugly.

Note the brackets aren't finished, still need finishing touches.

What delay relay did you use and where did you buy it?

Oh man, just put a set of DDM HIDs in last night, HUGE difference!!!
Went with the 55watt 6k slim.

My one question is has anyone tried to use any other bulbs if theirs went south?
Or are they priparatory connectors?

I just now tried the HID mod. Been at it all day. For some reason my relay isn't working. I used the 528T Pulse Timer and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I am guessing there is a loose wire maybe? Just curious as to which wires I should be paying attention to in order to solve this. I wired everything according to LVSleepers diagram.

Nevermind my above post, I found the problem. Now, I have everything wired up just as LVSleeper did... When I turn on the bike there is a slight flicker of the light, then they go off for about ten seconds, then turn fully on. Is there a way to set up the relay so that the light is on when the contact closes, and the delay starts with the contacts open? This way the light remains on when the relay contact is closed after some timed delay.

I have a quick question. I installed the HID as described in lvsleeper's post. It worked beautifully after installation, but after the first ride the low beam turns on with the ignition again as if the timing relay were not even there. Ideas? The bike sat for 8 hours at work. Thanks!

A quick question...? I've got an 05 Firebolt XB12. I've been "told" that I would need the H3 size bulbs, but can anyone verify? I need to get some more light going! DDM is waiting on me to verify.

Thanks

I believe H3 is correct,Thats what mine are anyways... If you'd like to be 100% positive, its just a little clip holding the lights in and you can look at the back of the bulb and see for yourself.

I want to do HID's on my '05 bolt, so I guess I'm gonna use DDM's since they seem to be very popular amongst everyone. I'm not the best with electronics and hopefully the diagrams here will help me since they look very detailed. I took engineering courses through high school so I can read a basic diagram...I hope haha.

Here is the issue I am running into... should i put in a 35w for my low beam and a 55w in for the hight or should I do both lights at 35w or 55w? and should i do 6k on the 35w and 8k on the 55w? Or am I missing something? I understand the timer and relay, but what would happen if I didnt put them in? I know my V-Rod doesnt need them.

I don't have a timer or relay, they are more prone to breaking as they flash off once you hit the starter. Personally I've ridden tons of miles like this already and mine haven't gone on me....
