I read all 19 pages of this thread and I am convinced to send in my stock muffler. I currently have a Jardine and I dont want a muffler that I will have to repack. My only concern is losing that loud sound that my jardine gives. Loud Pipes Save Lives [up]

As far as loud pipes, even the stock volume is louder than the I4's and people will hear you even with a blip of the throttle in 5th.

I think I'll go hawk too. It'll be interesting, I already get pissed looks from the neighbors when I fire her up in the morning heading to work [cool]

I'll see if I can get a quick dyno pull from the local Harley dealer before pulling the muffler off.

Gimp, check to see if your local has dyno days. The one near me in NC has $20 dyno on Saturdays.

How does the (loud) Hawk compare to maybe a big twin Harley or Ducati with an aftermarket exhaust? I'm trying to figure out how it sounds like before I send mine in. Videos are pretty useless because some cameras don't capture the real sound.

my buddy just had his done by randy. i think it sounds great. can't beat the price for proven results!

lets see some 1125 dyno sheets, and i'll be boxing up my 1125's can!

I just installed my Hawk muffler it sounds awesome! The bike is getting lots of attention a young female pulled up to me at the light my first trip and said she loved the bike and she road a Ninja. She also said she was extremely jealous.

Ok. Got my muffler back from Randy. Got it installed on my 2009 XB12Ss today. Wow! The sound is amazing. Definitely a noticeable increase in power. Also installed the K&N air filter today. Here are some pics of the muffler and before and after videos.

Randy rules and these pipes sound great! Can't wait to put some miles on spread some hate and discontent with this new muffler!!

It will really grow on you. It sounds really great. You will find yourself just revving at lights just to hear the rumble. Definitely some of the best money I've spent on mods.

Your ears will ring a little on longer rides. Just be prepared and maybe carry some ear plugs.

You can also turn off the servo using ecmread and tunerpro so you can remove the servo and cable and servo wiring harness.

The sound is great, really not to loud, the best part is helping work on the bike with your son. And then making a break-in run. It doesn't get much better.

smith2307, that is awesome! nice post! +1

I too am planning on getting a hawk when my break in is finished. Last i spoke with Randy he said he has three levels of loudness. What level of loud is yours?

Thanks dad! I'm glad we got to work on it and go riding! Awesome sunday.

Aritek:

The Hawk on mine is the loudest one Randy does. The only other muffler I have heard, in person at least, on a Buell is the factory race muffler I have on my 03 XB9R. This Hawk is a little louder overall, but the tone has a lot deeper bass tone to it.

I'll get a video of that one to post on here sometime as well.

Randy is the MAN!
He sent me a ECMspy cable, maps, complete Beatles anthology (every thing they ever did, recording sessions, interviews, all their music)
A HAWK t-shirt [up]

Been waiting a few weeks for it and it came today (after a side trip to Jamaica mahn, I understand how you can mistake CANADA for JAMAICA)

When the clutch/clutch cable/kickstand get here I will be ready to do some tuning, till then.....[sad]
LOL
