Thanks black Smith on the 4th of July everyone asked me if I got it just for independence day. I just responded with, no, I support America every day.

I don't like base-level HJCs either, but HJC DOES make more expensive helmets that are on par with Shark, Bell etc, they are even used on MotoGP by American rider Ben Spies etc.

I've been riding motorcyles of all types for 30 years and I love HJCs. I just picked up an IS-16. For around 200 bucks, you can't really beat it. I use my helmets daily and they can get pretty beat up. No reason for me to spend 500+ bucks on one. It is one of the lightest helmets I've ever had. Much lighter than my Shark and fits better than my Shoei. The integrated sun visor is fantastic, air flow is good, and it is relatively quiet. The only thing that feels cheezy to me are the d-rings for the strap. The interior is nice with a new moisture wicking fabric. And yes, the cheek pads are replaceable just in case they ever do wear out. What's nice about HJC is that they offer a full range of helmets from very inexpensive beginner helmets all the way to very expensive high-end helmets used by racers.

alright guys/girls, its time to get the helmet i've been saving for!!!!

i'm getting an icon variant,

I am torn between a dark smoked visor or reflective silver........

I think the dark smoked one looks great, but i do love the reflective silver on helmets as well, not to sure how it would look with the white and black though.

what do you guys think?

the Helmet

Smoked wuld look better I believe on that construct. If u went with the hi-viz version the silver wuld look sweet. That's what I plan non doing.

I think I'll stick with the dark smoke one, I feel it'll match a bit better and look a bit cleaner than the mirrored one

1badtitan90: how do you like yours so far? i just got mine today, so far so good, all the reviews are right, the cheek pads are a little tight. but they will form a bit to my face i hope.

I'll get pictures up later

Just installed gloss black Pegasus on each side of my flat black BuELL helmet. Represent yo. Gotta have a sense of humor.

Dan do you have the transitions shield?

I have the transitions shield. I'm liking it a lot overall.
When the sun is low and straight in your face it's not enough blockage and you need sunglasses but otherwise it's great.
