I think my engine is blown, options?

I stand by my comment of a clearance issue in one of the cyl.

Laugh if you may, but on a episode of Biker Build off they used high compression pistons in a stock HD motor and had the exact sam thing happen. the motor would rotate almost 360* both ways then abruptly stop........pistons where hitting the valves.
 
I've only torn apart one bike engine (inline 4) but dozens of car motors. Typically on a car on the compression stroke it is hard to get it past that stroke. How hard have your tried to move it?
 
motor turns over or even starts with the primary chain removed then you got a tranny problem

The plugs are out, the compression stroke would be no different than any other.

So should I rebuild with a big CC kit or turn and run?
 
Depends on what you want and how much time you have.

If you drop the motor and find damage then you will know more about which way you wanna go.
 
Is there a way for me to pull off the heads with out removing the engine?

How long does it usually take for you guys to pull out the engine?
 
You can pull the heads with the motor rotated forward.

To rotate the motor you're probably looking at about 1-2 hours (Depending on your mechanical ability).

I've had my motor rotated a few times on mine, and I can get mine forward relatively quick.

It's tight quarters still with the motor rolled forward, but you'll be able to get the rocker box and heads off.
 
Ant type of specialty tool needed?

no not really swivel sockets,1/4 inch drive,long needle nose come in handy.youll need to get the bike off the ground not just on stands
 
So I see the "How to" on rotating the engine how much more is involved in completely removing the engine?

I am thinking I might pull the engine out then bring her into the kitchen table and tear into her
 
WOW I look at the first list at a grand and I am thinking, that isn't to bad then I look further and the kits are 5g's WOW

Well, what kit would you recommend?
 
im planning on the 1470 stage 3 kit this winter it cheaper than a new bike and im sure it s going to feel like a different bike as far as power and torque
