I picked up an 05 bolt the other day. 22k miles, it had an electrical issue that I fixed. Well it appears that electrical issue was masking a blown engine.
I replaced the fluids yesterday and went to start her. She just clicked like the battery was dead, I tried to jump her, same thing. So today I pull out the plugs to see if she will turn over. Same thing just clicking. I had her on a rear stand, put her in 1st and tried to turn the wheel. Couldn't do it to save my life.

I think this engine is shot. So what are my options?!

Is it the clicking like when you go to turn it over and your battery doesn't have enough juice?
Or is it clicking like it's firing but nothing is igniting?
Or is it clicking like something metal inside is jumping around?

If the first, still an electrical issue.
If the second, check your fuel pump. Had mine burn out and act like that.
If the third...well I'm not that mechanically inclined.

Rebuild or Replace? Sit naked around the campfire and sing kumbaya?

1st off there is no way in hell you would be able to spin the wheel in gear on the stand. put the bike in 3rd gear on the ground pull in the clutch role a couple of feet then let it out like you're trying to bump start it. if the tire locks up could be tranny could be motor. then stick the bike in neutral and try starting it.

it sounds to me like the stater is trying to turn the engine but something will not allow it to turn. I tried to bump start is second she didnt even budge. By that I mean she just locked up and slid the rear wheel.

I tried to turn the engine over with the plugs out. Same thing

bullshit, you cant spin the engine by the rear wheel in 1st gear. i put mine in 5th to rotate the engine for the primary adjustment and it still isnt easy.

lol i never said in first try reading the quote i refered to again it dosnt mention 1st gear lol i knew someone would jump on that with out reading it all

sorry... i should have put in my post 1st gear.. oh well you knew what the heck i meant.

but back on topic... is this the black 05? have you fired it up already? or did you just go off of the guys word? if you have started it before and ran it then you can pull the primery pull the chain and then try bumping it with the starter.
i have seen the shift fork bend and break off into the tranny and lock everything up.
if you are going off his word then more then likely you have a cool exhaust and some carbon parts and a whole lot of spare firebolt parts because more then likely the motor is cooked. hopefully you only paid $1500-$2000 for it so you can at least get your money back in the parts.

So try and spin her in 5th gear with the plugs out?

It is the black 05. I bought it from a buddy of mine. He is a good dude and told me he had it running when he first got it. Even showed me a video.
I really don't want to pull the primary off again! I had it off yesterday to inspect the chain and I replaced the fluid.

For the price of a quart of oil and a gasket, you'd know immediately if the motor was seized or not.

so if you put it in 5th roll it with the clutch in then let it out, do you get the same thing? a locked up tire?
if so pull the primary.

She moves almost a full rotation. Once I hit what ever it is she stops then I spin the opposite direction and I get the same thing almost a full rotation then sudden stop.
You guys think that in any way could be the primary?

next step would be remove the primary chain and turn the engine and trans to see wich one is the problem.
also check the starter bolts to make sure one hasnt backed out.

with you saying that you get almost a full rotation leads me to believe bent or broken rod your back to pull the primary spin the clutch if the rear wheel moves bad motor.. motor turns over or even starts with the primary chain removed then you got a tranny problem. this is one of those problems that you are going to have to tear into it. to find the problem.
