50dro, buy you some body armor and wear that shit..

No doubt man! I'm usually more geared up than most...Can't say I have anything like the hard armor that you were using but it has me thinking...

Ok Ill use that as a rule of thumb when I go down there.. no sense in paying shipping if my local shop has this stuff in for a decent price.

Sucks to go down,

In terms of your turn signal. If it still works, you can glue it back into position. I had those same turn signals, rear one broke to where the nut and thread snapped right at the base. I went to Home Depot and bought this

Didn't have any issues after that and it stayed on through all types of weather and riding. I ended up switching to an XBlights integrated but I was impressed with the glue strength.

*edit* That link is for a 6pack, the single was like 3-6 dollars

those turnsignals have gotten alot cheaper over the years. I picked up two of them for $26 delivered, same price as the glue. Besides, I lost the lens off of it so I cant use it anymore.

Going down to Harley today to see how much the parts are.

well I went to my local Harly dealer and they had everything I needed in stock at lower than internet prices. Only thing they didnt have in stock was the splined gear lever.. total repart cost + my turnsignals and handle bar weights and new grips cost me about $120.. so not bad. Picked up a new Icon Allience helmet in Gloss black for $145 from another dealer too.. I should have everything to get back on the road late next week.

Im healing up pretty good and walking around .. my whole side looks like a Tequila Sunrise..

Good to hear your bike is coming back together and you'll be back on the road soon. All thanks to your armor too. What dealership do you go to thar still has Buell parts in stock?

Sorry about the luck Bro...

What's with the first vid? I thought is was gunna be some gopro action :( but nope...

He was telling his story in a way that can't be communicated through text...i thought it was pretty funny

i thought it was pretty funny

It was kind of funny(not the crash, the video)! You could tell the adrenaline was wearing off and the pain was settling in! Glad you're ok and the bike didn't sustain too much damage! [up]

It was a video actually to my friends on facebook but I decided to share it with you guys here on on the Buell Fourm.

I was headed out to the store for a new Battery and as soon as I left the gate of my housing complex, I brought the bike up to about 45mph.. the sound spooked a black cat that was hiding in the grass alongside the road and it jumped out and ran right under my front wheel.. the impact instantly knocked the bike over and killed the cat but I walked away with minior injruy but maximum bruises and soreness.. thanks to body armor.

The bike was basically undamaged due to frame pucks.. lost my left foot controls, one turnsignal and left clip on and a hand grip. Im on day 3 and most of the black and blue is gone! ha

I got the parts from the HD deaership in Sanford Florida.

Glad you did! It was a good reminder that something so unexpected can happen that quickly, and what the proper gear will do to help not only the bike, but more importantly the rider!

I don't ever wear knee pads, but after seeing yours feel the need to get some!

YEAH .. knee armor was experimental for me.. GLAD I started using it ALL THE TIME.. without knee armor I would still be laid up in the hospital right now "HATING LIFE"..saved me a few grand in medical costs easy and months of recovery.. think about it guys, I WALKED AWAY FROM IT..and that allowed me to get my bIKE back together and get myself riding alot sooner than normal.. GO FOR THAT ARMOR GUYS! Its a fraction of the cost of medical bills and funerals. Your FAMILY will thank you.

and in my video Im saying 45 mph bc I was in a 45 zone, but you know how we all are.. I could have been doing closer to 55 for all I know.. my eyes were on the horizion not the speedo.. out of nowhere I get a glimpse of a black blurr go under my front end.. BAM!,, Im going sideways along the tarmac... THINK ABOUT IT GUYS.
