Have you ever heard the Jardine in person? I've got one on my bike and it is LOUD. I have to wear ear plugs everywhere I go or my ears ring for hours afterwards. I'm actually taking mine off soon. Going for a little lower deeper rumble.

I know a guy with an older S1W that has a Jardine, and I know how loud it is, I could hear him coming a mile away lol. I've thought about getting the insert for it, but would that cause anything to throw off the EBR ECM?

looks great bar end mirrors makes the lightnings look so much better.

Most definitely, love the new look, just gotta find some bolts to fill in the stock holes. I've read they are 10mm x 1.25 standard thread? I went to my local Tractor supply, but they didn't have any.

I used plugs off a firebolt when I put crgs on mine. probably find plugs at lowes to fit.

I've got he QMI plug in mine. It does almost nothing to quiet it down. It actually made mine run smoother if anything else. I had a weird dead spot between 3-4k and it was fixed the moment I put the plug in. I don't know if it added backpressure or something but I'm happy it's fixed. Barely any change in sound. I put up a youtube video of it a while back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqzbD6pY0Co

As far as the mirror plugs, yes you'll want 10mm 1.25 pitch bolts. They're hard to find locally. I couldn't get them from any of my local fastener distributors on the shelf but you can order them from fastenal.

Well, had my safety class this weekend and everything went fine. Actually had a guy my age with a Buell too, it was an XB12Stt in cherry bomb red. Nice bike! It was funny though, made my Scg look tiny lol.

Congrats on your class! [up]

I remember sitting on an STT when they showed them off at the Long Beach motorcycle show. It just seemed so big and tall at the time (I'm a short inseam guy) so I could see where it would be a beast next to your SCG.

Thanks brother! It really did look so much taller, do they have longer seats as well? It looked like the seat was longer and wider in the rear.

I also received some new gear last weekend. After using it and riding with it for almost a week, I'll post a review here when I get home from work (it's supposed to rain this evening :/).

Got bored today and decided to do a little project.... And anybody guess what I was up to?

After about a 30 minute ride. They are starting to "golden" a little. Definitely look a lot better than before.

I must've had a lot of gunk built up on mine. I used the scotch brite pads, and it helped a little but the best results came from using 180 grit sand paper and then going back over it with the scotch brite pad. Definitely like it and it looks a hell of a lot better than before.

looks great! [up]

I may have to do this myself. It really cleans up the look.

you still looking for a Jardine?

Thanks brother! It was a pain in the ass and a little messy, but I like it! I must've had some good buildup because I definitely had to give it some elbow grease. Worth it afterwards!

And yes I am. I plan on buying all kinds of stuff over winter!

Went for a ride the other day, and stopped at a state park here in OH and took a pretty cool picture...

Oh, and I recently patched my tire to get some more life out of it, and trying to buy a little time to buy a new tire since the end of the season is coming up here in the Midwest. Well, I recently came home from a ride and saw this!

I believe this is the factory tire, since I bought her with 1,2XX miles on it, and now she has 4,6XX since I brought her home July, 8th. :)

I stopped at a small motorcycle shop near me to see how much a tire install (mount/balance) would cost, and I was told $60 which I didn't think was too awful. I asked them what their tire price would be on a Pirelli Diablo Rosso II, and I was told $190. I told them I definitely want them to do the tire change, but will shop around for a tire. Turns out I was able to get one much cheaper at my go-to motorcycle website, revzilla.com! Got one shipped for $145, so I took the money I saved and ordered a right side scoop from ASB, can't wait to get it! Plus, with winter approaching I plan on slowly buying more and more to get the bike to my end goal (if there is an end)!

Also, I've thought about changing the looks of Layla once I get all the performance/ functional mods that I want done.

I'm really thinking of changing my Hero Blue over to white! The airbox cover, fly screen, and hopefully a chin cowl as well to white. I think it would really look good with the Hero Blue wheels! Thoughts, opinions anyone?

Glad you decided to keep it. Layla looks great!

I remember see her listed on cycle trader. I wanted to get her so bad but didn't have the money at the time. Got my 09 scg a few weeks later locally.

I'm in the market for new tires soon too. The diablos are awesome tires but as you can see don't last too long. I'm looking at the pirelli angels now. Not as aggressive performance wise but great in the rain and can last 10-15k miles from what my local shop told me...

White looks cool on these bikes but please don't paint those plastics. They're hard to come by.

Thanks Jay! I'm glad I did too, everything worked out for me in the end!

5-0, guess what's next on the list to purchase! :p I wish I would've boughten them the other week like we talked about, but then I was inspecting my tire and wanted to get that first. Trust me, I don't plan on painting these ones! I'm going to buy the white plastics from buellparts.net. They have a white airbox cover that has the Buell decals on them, but they are pretty plain, just white with a black outline, so I might try to find the white and blue from an XB12R second hand. I think that would look awesome!

Here's the biggest thing I want to do to Layla.... I want to convert all plastics to Arctic White like the picture below (NOT my bike)!

I have so much I want to do to this bike, I feel like I'll never see the end!
