Im literally the only buell ive seen in my area for about 40-50 miles. Ive seen one guy (i live in Big Rock, IL) in Naperville, by the "Fox Valley Mall" on an XB12R, and ive seen an 1125cr go past my work a few times, but out of my last counted 23 bikes at my school, i am the only Buell and one of the only American bikes. about half of the guys ride like the harley cruiser knockoffs like the kawasaki vulcan and honda shadow. The cargo shorts and flip flops really pisses me off too. I go to work and get teased by a short fat kid with a 91 Gixxer stroker (like a 1296cc or something) and another kid because they said my helmet is "ridiculous" and that im crazy for wearing leather when it's cold out. Last time i checked, riding to work at 7am in illinois at 49degrees is not exactly what i would call "warm." These kids have never been on anything more than a 15mi ride across town and back though. One doesn't even have a class M license. i think they wanted bikes originally because they saw some guys "stuntin" but realized that isn't really a fad anymore so now they both dropped the suspension and stretched the swingarms and lemme tell you somethin', crappy old early 90s gixxers are not worth putting money into. they'll never be cool.
on a side note, i was at rockford speedway last night and they had this stuntin team called "vertical mischief" there. one of the guys was stuntin on an old sportster! i was impressed.
