New Guy - Muffler mods

Hello everyone, new guy here. Just got my 08 Firebolt about a week 1/2 ago & didn't like the stock muffler. Read a lot of your posts and comments and it really helped me to decide on what I was going to do, thanks! This is what I came up with and so far I love it. I have posted it in response to other exhaust threads but I wanted to get some feedback on this thing. It is all stainless steel and sounds great! I actually gained a little more power with it too[up] Please feel free to comment positive or negative.

It was on the bike when I bought it.

There was no paper work with it.

I wish I knew what kind it was.

Ok, I'll try to be brief & not bore you. The muffler & brackets are all 316L stainless steel. I could not modify my stock muffler because I will need it for inspection to get my tags renewed (they check db with a meter). As far as sound, my friends swear it sounds like a race car when I come rumbling down the street, people in other cars look at it like "what the f*%K is that & where did it come from?" Every time I have ridden it since I put it on I have had to point at the green light to the guy in the car next to me staring at my bike (yes, it attracts attention)! I put directional blades to force the exhaust to spiral and help maintain back pressure. Actually gained power and responsiveness. No air box or ecm mods yet (I just hit 500 mi last night).

You wont see any of these, it is one of a kind Yours actually looks like one that Randy Hawkins did? if it sounds that good I would have to say it is.

bolt, what is the body made from? it looks like 3 pieces of tube welded together. very nice looking. a sound clip would be cool also a few different pics. great job!
brightbuell, i think your pipe is a drummer. is the tip stainless or aluminum?

I made it from 2" od .065" wall pharmaceutical grade s/s tubing. unfortunately I do not have any sound clips that I can post, I'll work on that. as soon as the rain stops I'll get some more pics, you can barely see it if you are standing up next to the bike because it does not hang down near as low as the stock one did.

Brightbuell, I think you have an econo-drummer. It is one of the best investments someone could make for your bike! I miss my 12r so bad I'm looking for someone to buy my 1125R so I can go back to best bike ever made...
bolt08, fantastic job! Some real craftsmanship it looks like you are quite handy w/ a welder. I cant wait to hear a soundbite.

i have a XB12Ss and it has the quietest bloody muffler ever... its so quiet i can hear my self thinking about what i can do to make it louder...

Does it make the bottom of your bike look weak? I mean because it does not fill the space. Can you post a profile pick of the bike? Im not dissing it. If it looks great in profile then you have a great idea, cause you got rid of some weight.

Nice job -I'm looking to add a nicer exhaust to my 12r-but I'll probly go with a hawk-randy does a good job-
How many hours did it take-I've got a mig -but it's only something I would try myself if it wasn't over the top involved.

Took me about 12 hrs once I made my mind up what I was gonna do. countless hours before I started to figure out exactly what I wanted.

I would consider selling them however I would have to get set up to fab a a couple of them first. you see I don't have a lot of room, I converted my paint booth into a fab shop for this one (I do custom airbrushing and bike painting in my spare time) but now I have a MESS to clean up before I can start airbrushing on my new toy.
I am sure that you could lift with it but I'll let you know tomorrow (I want to make sure first)

I'm still working on getting a sound clip but I've been working too much lately
