Another question, while pulling tps connector apart, one of the tabs broke, but I do not think it will cause any problems as long as there is one tab still good, what do you guys think.:)

id say its fine....a little electrical tape when putting it back together wont hurt either.

That's what I thought,I think the heat from the engine made the tab a bit brittle, still would also like to know if removing fuel connection at throttle body will be ok without running fuel out of the tank.:D

I removed my fuel line without depressurizing the system without any issues. However, it is recommended to have bike running and remove fuel pump fuse to allow the system to depressurize.

It looks like you are at a point where starting the bike would be a pain. Just remove fuel line while wearing eye protection and away from any heat sources and open flames just in case.

Thanks for the info,I never had any problems with other vehicles, so I did not think it would be too much trouble, thanks again.

Finally, after having to stop and do some other things,I am ready to rotate the motor on down,it does look to be the rear rocker gasket, but while I am doing that I will do front as well and my breather reroute since I have all I need for that also, kill two birds with one stone.:D

Just what did you need to do for a breakdown that far, also and this has nothing to do with any work on my engine, but when I post on here it does not show as a new post, just wondering.:D

The main bolt to rotate the engine is on the under side...attaches to the frame. That the last bolt to remove. I usually left the frame and front wheels assembly attached together. tail section is pretty self explanatory. as is the air box.

I have a set of Allen's torx and a 13 mm open end.....with just those things...

Had To take a break for a few days since I took a fall a couple of days ago and hurt my ribs and my right knee, now to my question, bike is ready for engine rotation but want to know if the oil lines have to come off,in the manual it looks like they come off but I have been looking at some other tutorials posted by members and it looks like they leave them on,just asking because all I am doing is new rocker box gaskets.?:)

Me again, was just wondering if that front isolator bolt should that hard to break loose, today is the first day I got back to rotating the engine and this is the large bolt in the steering head that I can't get loose.

Yea,I took a break for about 30 minutes then did that very same thing, came loose right away, now I need to know if using a small block of wood between the jack and engine will let it rotate far enough to change the rocker gaskets, I do this on most engines I work on so as not to damage them but as this is my first Buell, just wanted to know.:)

Yes, a 2x4 should allow enough clearance to change gaskets.

I ended up moving the jack out completely and lowering the engine by hand until the front isolator assembly rested against the front tire.

Hi,well I finally got my engine rotated and took a closer look at the leak,it is the rocker box gaskets on the rear cylinder but the front looks like it has been leaking a bit also.:D

Hi,two questions,I have the rocker covers off now,but what is the best way to get those fiber washers off,the heat from the engine has them stuck to the covers, also do you need to have both valves in the rocker boxes to be closed,or is that just if you are taking the cylinder heads off, thanks.

Hi,I have looked in the manual about taking the rocker boxes off,it says to turn the crankshaft until the valves are closed on the cylinder you are working on but does not explain how,do you turn the front sprocket with transmission in gear or what,I do not think that I need to reinstall the battery since I am to the point of having the rocker covers off, sorry for these questions but this is my first v-twin to work on.
