NwRider (michael), next time we meet you can take the bike for a spin. Loki any time you find yourself in Portland OR you can come ride it too. :)
Netty2424 you know us "mod/DIY" guys too well haha. Bike is mostly done besides paint and powdercoating.... Then ill finish my 98 Subaru Impreza that Im building. Thanks for the compliment!

EricZ,
The shock extension was created on a CAD program by me and a machine shop agreed to help me. They had to make 4 pieces before I retained the perfect stock height again. I also designed the piece so that it wouldn't pivot around when the suspension was fully stretched.
Yes the chain was pushed right up against the swing arm so I had to take dremel and cut the upper belt guard brackets off and make a slot for the chain. I thought about the EBR chain guide but it wasn't made to incorporate a 240 tire so it would be too big. So I fab'd up a stainless steel piece to run along side the swing arm. (pictured below VVV) The chain is less than a Millimeter away from the tire. I was nervous at first but I've had no problems.

Let me know when you want to go for a ride... everyday it has been dry I have been playing on the local back roads.

I would never ask to ride her... but if you want to ride my bike I'd swap ya for a mile or so. Hehehe.

Again... nice work!

Again... Nice work!
Thank you! I look forward to seeing the new tail on your x1.
Since I initially brought the bike over from Canada its a pain the ass to get it registered and insured. I have to put the stock exhaust back on and flash the stock map back on it.
Once I get that sorted out I'll give you a call Michael.

You get that upper triple figured out brother?
Not yet. gonna take some modifying....

Right now Im fabing up my my chin fairing. The most difficult part so far. Carbon fiber + Jardine brackets are far from a bolt on addition.

Sweet Rosarita refried bean can. Best mod yet.
Haha that was for the oil when I removed my oil filter. Had to take it off when putting on the bracket and using the torch to bend it. Waste of a good K&N oil filter! Grrr

The most difficult part so far

I'm working on the same thing One. I actually cut my bracket and welded it. It's been the biggest pain in my a$& trying to get that right.

RJ with the chain movement does it touch the tire at all? I know they have a bit of play but curious as whether it touches the tire, I would think a little wouldn't matter, just curious.

Yessss..... There is only 1 millimeter between the chain and tire. So when i hit bumps the tire nicks the chain. It hardly hits it though. It was scary at first but now its just hardly rubbed off all the extra rubber that hangs past the tread. Ill try to get pictures of it but its hard to notice.

I've seen these guys make custom big wheel kits for Buells too (seen their own Buells on Streetfighters magazine UK), so if anyones at dead end, maybe you can try contacting them:
[confused] ummm what dead end? This is my build thread.... only problem im having is with my chin fairing. Those guys advertise no kits for Buells. And how is a UK company that doesn't advertise Buell better than Grandstand designs or 300 fat tires (who are both in the states)? Thanks......

I wasn't talking about you, I've seen you got everything right! :D
Sorry for posting this in your thread [sad] I've just seen that other people in here are interested, and I've seen their Buell work on Streetfighters magazine (they've made new extended pulley for belts etc), and thought I'd post it here.
Sorry again, keep up the good work!

I think they look great!

the frame and airbox grippy stuff really goes well with the carbon fibre too and I am not a fan of carbon fibre
[up]

Looks good Onelogue! [up] BuddhaBuell is right that goes well together!

I see two different Buells in the back ground? Brothers?

I like the look ;)

Frame pucks do ease the mind, at least it does for me, I know the pucks are a lot easier to replace than getting a new frame and goinf through the whole powder coat process again.

Thanks guys. I just didnt like riding around knowing my leg was rubbing on the tank/airbox. Im still warming up to the look but im glad i got them too.

Yeah the red bike is my brothers '08 XB12R and the amber one with the Micron headers is my old '04 XB12R... getting ready to be parted out :(

Looking good, your airbox looks really good!
What kind of triple trees are those?
I don't like pucks either, but installed them on my bike anyway for protection. Was considering the carbon fibre frame covers/protectors for a while, but IDK how good they will cope during a potential crash. They look much better on your bike though, with the grip surfaces etc.
