I don't really blame honda for dumping the RC51, granted I love the bike and always wanted an SP2. but with the exception of the interceptor honda has always had a "always move forward don't look back" kind of attitude towards superbikes.

the RC51 was no longer fueled by race wins when the fireblade (CBR1000RR) took center stage when the rules allowed it.
Honda unlike harley knows that race wins sell bikes faster than clothing lines and chrome.
