34-Figured Cooter would be burning up the track this weekend. Do not know where I got the idea you were in Santa Cruz.

Phoenix is not too far from Faywood--when you get your bike up, go there for a soak, rent a cabin.

Had the XR1200X out yesterday for an hour or so. Blistering heat here at 48 degrees. I like that bike more every time I use it.

Theres so much I need to do to the EBR. Track duty accelerates a maintenance schedule dramatically, as well as trips to Revzilla.com for tires. I will say that along with watching The Bubbles improve quite rapidly, going to the same track(s) over and over has really helped me increase speed and safely drop lap times quite a bit.

Got a "track Addict" app that not only does lap times, it is invaluable for tracking corner speed and will compare real-time laps back to back. $9? worth it!

I like the perspective but Lord I'm a silly looking giant on that thing:upset:

Got a fork leg that weeps just a tiny bit. I could probably 'Seal Mate' fix it but I'd rather pull them apart and have an ol' look-see. This Fridat-Saturday are at Chuckwalla (Femwalla) are the last of this year so I'll have some time.

10K of hard use and time for a fork oil change anyway. I really like where I have it adjusted, and I've spend a couple bucks to have the local "suspension guy" at the track take a look too. They ain't no Dave Moss, but any adjustments were just put back to where I had them and they aren't bottomed out, so I'll keep the same 10w spec and make sure the sliders are nice. I could use slightly heavier springs, but that just opens Pandoras box of upgrades. LAP will sell a PAIR of NEW OE complete forks for $400. Wow. I should get a whole new set of BPF's just in case.

Since I upgraded to Bremo brake pads "Track" compound it really made the perimeter brake so much better! I've quit thinking of a front end upgrade:) For $80 they are so completely worth it. Tons of initial bite so I can check them at the end of the straight  and zero fading and bluing of the rotor now. I get a little brake lever softness still when they are boiling but its manageable and vastly better.

Just a pad change. Who knew:confused:

Speaking of Bubbles:
Not much sleep at 28* in a tent that night, just woke up and haden't even had coffee yet. Just look at that smile!

I should be working on the EBR in that garage for tomorrows departure to Chuckwalla, but I was at the shop checking fluids on the bike hauler, got bored, and saw a hood scoop on the shelf as I was holding a cordless 4 1/2" grinder "Death Wheel".

I'm dangerous when I'm bored.

Well, ya can't say I'm afraid to commit:love_heart:

I'm still not sure if it's Crackhead or Cool, but hell, I feel like I'm driving a video game now and it sure makes moms push their strollers faster across the crosswalk!:topsy_turvy:

Think that bike would fit me perfectly. Hand her over!

Awesome that you're still squeezing in some track time.

Got in my last run at Thunderhill up past Sacramento about a month ago, before they closed for the season.
Their West Track has this crazy drop where I swear I could catch air if I were more of a daredevil.

"Well.....Bye."

I always get excited when I see this post on the Front Right Column of the BuellXB home page.

I think... Finally he's gone... It's taken Sixty-One pages to say "Good Bye"...

But then someone on the Board leaves a "Free Beer" out and he's still hanging around.

For the Love of God... Stop Leaving the "Free Beers" out...:)

Hey Endo, Bubbles and I have plans to hit ThunderHill at least once next year as well as Laguna Seca (Sorry, Weatherhead. I'm old). I'll be sure to let you know. SR lives up there too and his son rides really fast! It would be cool to have a Buell meet up.

Disturbed: When the phrase "Free Beer" is uttered anywhere in the galaxy, I get a sense, some say a powerful 'force-like' entity that speaks directly to me. This "Force" is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.
There are much hated dark forces that seek to bring soberiety to the galaxy. Their evil Emperor battles against Free Beer for order and control, but don't worry my friend Disturbed. The powerful Beerdi fight for the force, and Free Beer for all:angel:

Would be great to get to meet you all in real life. A Buell meet up in the spring? That would be a great way to celebrate the completion of this messy year!
Would love to get some track pointers from you veterans.

Wonder if Opto would still be in town. And I suppose you'd be welcome too Aaron, as long as you bring some good Arizona beer :eagerness:

Though I don't think I'd ever take my XB9 racing. It's great for cruising, but feels way too top heavy for the track.
My KTM Duke 790 on the other hand, is the best handling bike I've ridden. Boy it's nice to have up and down quickshifters and a slipper clutch.

I like it, goes great with the fender flares. Makes me think of cheap beer, ‘back in black’ on a set of road thunders and my old jean jacket.

Oh my God. We must be the same age...

I remember drinking a Lucky Lager we just got an Old Guy friend (James, probably 22yo) to buy from 7-11, while my GF drew the Scorpions logo in magic marker across the back of my jean jacket.

Thanks for the memories:cool:

What Cooter isnt telling you, is that this happened yesterday.

Would love to meet up with you characters before too long. Early Spring makes more sense then January. Lunch at the Whale Café--Thinks are so out there now that who knows. For sure I will be ready for a burn pretty soon. You can recognize me as I will be the guy on the XR1200.

Kick it around--we can go down to the beach and sip some Bulleit. That is only a couple of months from now.

Bubbles just won some more trackdays.... AND a Yamaha Champ school!!! Sheesh. Pics and story coming:love_heart:

Ya we are kicking around that PNW trip too. I have Delta tickets in hand, but would prefer a ride to a fly any day and especially now (still).

Cool never goes out of style. I just snuck into my local "closed" barbershop and you have no idea how close I was to having my covid hair length turned into a mullet. I am being 100% honest here:applause:

2021, year of the MULLET!
