    2003 XB9S Transmission Trouble

03's had a sidestand switch that acts up and causes it to cut out anytime you hit a bump. I disconnected it and bypassed the switch. Connector is above the muffler but you can get to it from what i remember. Hope you get er' sorted out.

    Riding Technique/Styles

I second the Sport riding techniques book. It is very good. Always brake early when street riding, late apex for me ( so i can see around the corner better) and near zero trail braking with the buell. It stands up alot during trail braking. My three rules of thumb are: lead with your...

    New to XB forum

Some newer bikes have the air inlet screens on the airbox. Older ones like my '03 have air drawn in through the frame via a tube on the left side of the bike. All the airbox covers are interchangeable, i think. Yes, the primary and trans share the same oil. Holds 1 quart only. Very easy to...

    front brake pad moving?

I think i know what you mean. My pads fit the same way. The only time i get some clicking noise is when it rains or if i wash it. The pads will click back and forth for a few corners. or always in the rain. I live with it. My EBC race pads fit more snugly and don't do this. It could be...

    Xb Chain Conversion HELP PLEASE!

With the extra link in, and it seeming too loose, is that while its' on the stand as shown in the photo? The chain will be at it's tightest when the swingarm is parallel to ground. Check how tight it is with bike on ground and you sitting on it. (ride height). I still run my belt, but hope...

    No no no no no.

Wow. that's cold. Neutral switch for 03 is part number 33900-99. Hope this helps. Should come with sealing washer #6288. Try calling the parts department ahead of time, tell em' to run that Buell number. It's usually good with the exception of the suffix changing over time. Best of luck...

    shifter wont ratchet.

If you had no issues before you pulled the primary cover then it's likely you knocked a return spring off the shift shaft. With the primary cover removed, you can see the shifter shaft and the two ratchet arms on it where they engage the shift drum. On each ratchet is a small return spring. Hope...

    Need HELP troubleshooting an Issue

Put fresh fuel in it. All the lighter elements of the old fuel will have evaporated long ago. Very cheap to try it too. I'm surprised it even started on the 2 year old gas.

XB9S Misfire? not sure, don't know! HELP!!

Get yourself some HD or ngk plugs. It's your preference. I like the HD stuff. I"m surprised your local dealer doesn't have wires in stock. They're fairly cheap. Put some dielectric grease on the boots before putting them on the plugs. You don't need it on the coil end, it'll just be slippery and...

3 dead buells in my possession

On the STT, does it "back fire" through the intake, or after fire out the exhaust.? Usually a backfire through the intake is a lean indication, put a fuel pressure gage on that thing and see where it's at while riding and under load. Best of luck,

    2003 xb9r clutch question.

If you used to ride, or have ridden metric bikes, the Buell clutch is hard to pull. Lots of lever effort compared to other bikes. Check out the Muller power clutch from American Sport Bike. It reduces clutch effort by 40% for 169.99. Ride on!!
