    Hot Rodding a 2000 X1 Lightning

S&S doesn't know much about Buells.. I been talking to their "Sportster Guy".. He was concerned about frame clearance. Looks like the consensus is to stay with stock stroke and look at bore. I am probably gonna build it using S&S flywheel assy, 3.8125 (stock) stroke. I am leaning towards the...

    Hot Rodding a 2000 X1 Lightning

I have been Buell-less since trading my 09 XB12 for a Ducati Monster. I came into this X1 through the shop. It needs a top/bottom re-build and I want to build it up. I want to use S&S for parts, as I can buy wholesale. Does anyone have an idea on the frame to rockerbox clearance? I need to...

    Official Supermoto/Dual Sport Thread

I ride a Honda XR650R AKA The Big Red Pig. I re-did the suspension and installed Race Tech Gold valves. I have the Baja Designs DS kit and a Trail Tech Vapor for a speedo. Also did a 200 watt stator. The thing is scary fast for a dirt bike (had it to 110 on my gravel road!!) I like to get...

    American Chopper

Don't forget folks.. it's all TV. Jesse, I'm sure was prompted to talk shit. I knew as soon as I heard that the public would vote on the bikes that the whole thing would be bogus. The public for the most part doesn't know what is cool. It would have been better for a panel of seven Judges to...

hit pothole bike died won;t start no lights on dash or anywhere

Not related to the electrical problems, but if it was a bad pothole you might also check your front motor mount. I hit a hole on my gravel road hard and it broke mine.

    XB12Scg Preload change ride height?

Preload adjustments will not change the ride height of a bike except in the case of "sag" which is the amount the rear end lowers when you sit on the bike. To lower the bike, you must slide the forks up in the clamps and/or change the length of the springs. The shock, since Buells don't have a...

Some interesting events over the weekend...

That guy isn't making 95 hp with intake and exhaust. Hell the "big" 96 inch motors put out about 68 stock, intake and exhaust might be good for 5-8 hp if that. I applaud your patience. I would have told him to f**k himself.

Race Ecm Vs Stock Ecm Vs ecmspy

No pipe/air cleaner combo is going to add 20hp. The 25 lb. weight savings is wildly exaggerated too. I would think 3 to 5 hp gain and about 10lb weight loss. More hp and less lbs is always a good thing anyways!

    Question...

Not true at all. If a stator just maintained charge then each time you start a bike you would lose some charge until the battery died. I would check both ends of the battery cables for tightness and test the battery.

I'm looking forward to a ride soon. I usually make a couple trips to the Talihina area in the fall. I will post up dates when I get it figured out.

Tire change.. at dealer.. final price...

Lamarchangel hit it. I know I need to make X on a tire sale, which is made on tire profit plus labor. I am an approved installer for MC Superstore and see the invoiced prices paid. Last week I had a BT016 rear come in for a guy from MC Superstore. Doing a quick comparison he did save...

Tire change.. at dealer.. final price...

I do a lot of tires at my shop. If the tires are purchased through me, I charge $42.50 per wheel for mount/balance..$21.25 if wheel is off bike. I don't charge full retail for the tires either. I charge double labor for internet tires and there is no warranty for tire problems. Bottom line is...
