almost mugged and bike stolen

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

well i went out for 1/2 hour in the truck and was unable to find the jeep and a plate number. used almost 1/2 a tank too! thats why i got the bike to counteract the 3 mpg but just felt it might not be a good idea to go looking for them on the bike they saw me on...

OK, so I've read the majority of this thread but if I've missed he part where you called the police I apologize. So did you?

no i didnt. all i have is that it was a dark purple cherokee small amount of rust and 4 black guys and one white and no plates. i live in a college town and theres atleast 20 that fit that right there just on campus. if i saw it again i would know which it was especially if i saw the driver with it but without the plates i dont see a point in reporting it.

Dude, you have to protect your community! What if these ******* pricks kill someone in the next few months? How will you feel? At least the police will be on the look out for them. Don't let the lack of info stop you, these bastards need to be stopped.

You never show off a gun or use it as a scare tactic. The only time someone should know you have a gun is after they've heard the "click" from the hammer.

etch that **** in STONE!!! Here here [up]

Sorry, but I think you are being pretty ignorant to not phone the police about this one, they need to at least be on the look out for these people!!

On the topic of the concealed weapon, I live in Canada and here we are not permitted to carry a concealed weapon, which I don't agree with, but if they ever did allow it I truly believe that it should only be after extensive training!!! Just saying that you "have the right to bear arms no matter what" is just completely ridiculous.

i did have a cop come to my house so i could report it and told them of the spots i believe i have seen it before, around the corner down a few blocks so not to far away unfortunately, i also told him that i would get him a plate number if i ever found it again.

I'm sorry to hear of your scary incident. Hopefully that'll never happen again. Be carefull if you use some of the "gun toting" advice from a few in this thread. Remember the prison systems are over run with people who have "tried" taking the law into thier own hands.
A life for a motorcycle? wow.....

Safe journeys to you forevermore

This is actually stunning... Im positive nobody was ever advocating killing sombody for a motorcycle.
I hate the statement "taking the law into thier own hands" tell me who's job is it to keep me safe?

Im sure the gun was to keep the driver safe, not to protect the motorcycle

Well, there's always the possibility that it wouldn't just be a stolen bike. People get killed over sneakers. If someone goes out of their way to yank you off your motorcycle which is a violent act in itself, who knows what they could or would do to you...That said, carrying a weapon isn't a fix-all. It's best to get some training to help ensure you know how to act responsibly and lawfully in dangerous situations.

blah blah blah

tell us, Rambo, at what point in the story did he have an opportunity to "Draw, pardner"?

Boot in the gut: closest weapon, nearest target. Best chance he had and he took it.

CCW on a bike is about as sensible as a crotch holster.

Stopping in the road when they're armed with a pickup truck is also genius material.

its funny how high stress situations and adrenaline affects motor skills for those that are not regularly exposed to them.

got a plate number! saw the bastard at walmart and went out to the parking lot and found the jeep. cant wait to give the to the officer when i get off work!

Glad you got away ok, but you should have called the police as soon as you got in the door. They might have put a few cars in the area looking for the jeep even without the plate, not preaching because hindsight is always 20/20.As for the gun issue here in Ontario, it,s hard to get a handgun let alone get a carry permit, besides four on one in a gunfight are not good odd,s.As for training it,s always a good thing, but does not always work. Funny side story, a policeman near here got into a shootout, emptied his 9mil and missed all shots so did the other guy,but the outcome could have been tragic otherewise Hope they catch the SOB,s

^^ Nice! [up]

Crazy story!! Keep us posted as to what happens and if the cops ended up locating that jeep! Glad that Jeep ended up being from your area and not just someone cruising from town to town.

Ontario: basically no carry permit. You'd have to be witness protection or secret agent.

Police shooting all over the place was here. The other guy did not have a gun: he twitched. Cop emptied the clip all over the place (maybe 19 rounds? Glock). Bullets were in peoples' kitchens and bedrooms, one was in a nursery. Police Chief would not allow the officer's name to be released but promised that he was going to spend a lot more time at the firing range.

Let the police do their job and make them do their job.

Getting a concealed carry is on my to do list just for this reason. Its right after 'buy Kimber .45' Around here there's a bunch idiots my age, 21, driving daddy's diesel dullies. Every once in a while one will try to black a road out in front of me or something like that. I'd stop them to ask wtf but I don't carry yet. I'm not saying be stupid and look for a reason, I'm saying better to be prepared for the worst then unprepared. You always gotta be safe out there man. Since you're in a Buell forum I assume you ride a Buell, duh. Its a great handling bike, take them corners with speed. If it can be done in a safe manner, run some red lights if you have to. Just get away cleanly. Best of luck finding those ********.

a couple of years ago here 3 officers fired 43 rounds hit the guy twice and his car 3 times.turns out he was running from a gunman shooting at him a ended up getting killed by the police.
