buell factory right side scoop

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Just installed my right side scoop from ASB. Got the Uly comfort kit and it REALLY makes a difference . Went on a 40 minute ride and the fan came on when I shut the bike off but only ran for a minute as opposed to 5 minutes. Money well spent .[up]

Where are the screws that I will need to mount the outer scoop? Part no. as1005.3fss is no longer available at https://www.surdyke.com/Index.asp. Also will this mod keep my right leg cool during riding or is it the exhaust that causes my right leg to get so hot. Thanks

Your right leg is getting hot from the headers that are right next to that leg. Im not sure what most Buell owners do since I just bought mine, but I know there is header wrap that you can put around it.

I like the ceramic coating alot is it very effective in heat reduction. It looks sweet! The potential damage to my headers doesn't excite me too much for the header wraps.

I got my screws from removing the no longer needed exhaust servo after installing my hawk:D My 07stt runs so much cooler after installing that scoop, and therefore so does my body lol

just ordered the scoops from local dealership last week. they said the inner scoop was on back-order until May 13th FYI.

I might have to pick one of these up, anyone order from Lakeshore lately? I am curious how long it takes to get these recently.

My inner scoop was also backordered thru surdyke.com until the 15th I think. Excited about how it will look

What are the options as far as scoops go? I know Lefox/Pegasus makes a RSS that seems to be pretty popular. I didnt even know there was an inner AND an outer RSS? Is the sole purpose of the RSS just to route more air to the engine by adding a duplicate LSS? Do people replace both scoops to lose some weight?

I don't know of all the options but the 50 dollar one is a good cheap route and its effective. Essentially the inner bolts in the place of the cover that comes stock and supplies mounting points for the outter scoop. The inner really doesn't route any air. All I know, is that it keeps the rear cylinder cool. The only reason I could think to replace both is to make it look even?

i live in california get the buell parts from antelope valley harley there an hour from my house but they ship ,i have a harley dealership were i live but they dont deal with buell parts
