OK, So what's the consensus? Buy the complete kit from ASB? $69 + shipping? Or go with LSHD1?

Thanks!

Just got my ULY inner/outer right scoop installed. :)

I ended up getting mine special ordered from HD Edmonton. Cost me ~$78. It was the cheapest I could find it. Most US HD dealers won't ship their parts up to Canada.

I finally broke down and ordered a scoop for my '06 12Ss after my right thigh was turning into a BBQ'd brisket during a 90+ degree ride.

I am impressed! I've not had a chance to ride at 90+ temps yet, but so far at temps in the upper 70s the fan doesn't even turn on when I shut the bike off after a 15 mile ride home from work.

My only negative comment (and I'm sure it's been mentioned before) is I wish the left and right scoops matched in size/shape a little better. I just like symmetry, but I'm sure Erik put function first and that's how it is. Bottom line is the thing works and it's a quality piece! [up]

You need 2 new pieces the stock scoop gets removed, and a new one replaces that has mounting bolts, the bigger outside scoop mounts to it. On the first page of this thread has the part numbers.

In this picture you can see the new inner scoop and where the bigger/ outside scoop mounts to it.

just ordered my factory scoop. i really hope it makes as much of a difference as everyone says. its only taken me 3 years of discomfort to try it haha

I installed a factory scoop two months ago. Fan comes on way less but shifts the heat to the seat burning your butt..

Frankly, i'd rather have the fan run than redirect the heat to my nether regions.[sad]

Just ordered my right side air scoop kit from the HD dealer, some of the prices in these posts, some dates 2009, have changed, the whole kit cost me $100.58 from the dealer,a lot more than listed in earlier posts, but still a decent price when compaired to aftermarket

shop around online, sites like surdyke.com, newcastlehd.com, LSHD1.com, chicagoharleydavidson.com, bought mine 2 yrs ago for around 58 bucks, don't remember where from, could look through my records if need be, as for the hardware, if you can find out the size of 'em, save you $$$ and head to Ace hardware and get 3 stainless ones for the price of one that HD is charging
