New to this forum and just want to thank Buellysses for hosting! Working on getting into more DIY with my buell, especially since this one is used as opposed to my first being new - i'm not sure what i'm in for with this one, but it's not been too bad thus far.
 
I just got my cable in the mail today Im super excited!
Although I'm having issues getting the driver to install/work. I keep getting a message saying "The dependency service or group failed to start". If anybody can help me out, a pm would be much appreciated!
 
i just ordered my cable from vtwin tuner connection. i have no clue how to use it, but i figured id figure it out. after all, i am a very fast learner! everyone said that the Buell Blast trans oil change was a bitch to do, but i did mine in under 45min. i timed it! (might get into a small business of doing maintenence on them. a LOT of people in illinois have blasts but the dealers either dont want to touch them, or they charge an arm and a leg).

ok, enough off topic. How user friendly is this program? im very computer savy, but i have never tuned anything before. i have a 2003 XB9S with D&D pipes and a K&N filter. nothing more. are there any pre set types of maps that would work well with this? i have access to a dyno for about 50$ an hour about 15min from my house. what should i do?
 
i actually don't have any backfiring on engine breaking like many claim you get with the D&D, but i actually think the bike is running rich. it REEKS when i run it in my garage and there seems to be some black smoke (unburnt gas) coming from the exhaust on hard revs.
 
also, am i looking at dropping my MPGs through the floor? i dont ride the bike that hard, i just want the tune for engine longevity
 
I asked this in it's own thread but have not received any response so I thought I would try here. I have searched but I can not isolate "Mac" returns when I search, and it's frustrating because I know that I have come across this info in a thread before. My question is...Is it possible to run ECMSpy on a Mac if I install the Mac version of Mono?

Okay, so I have been trying to figure out the correct combo to download for ecmspy and the right driver files. I lost everything I already had on a previous computer and now have windows 7. I have downloaded the copy of ecmspy from the first posting but don't know if there is a new version and what driver files to download. The bike is a 05 xb12r with the race ecm. If someone could point me in the simplest way to get what I need it would be much appreciated.

p.s. I already have the cable
 
I see that many here say you need to click on the "keys" in order to connect. On my version, I do not see where the keys are in order to connect. I was able to connect 1 time but my laptop froze while it was downloading my ecm info, since then, I have been unable to connect.

I am running version 1.1.7.3 it looks like. Any idea if the keys appear on this version?

Hello, Ok need some schooling I have a Mac is there a Ecmspy for Mac? Second just bought a 06 Xb9r last owner said he rejetted it lol whatever that means I think he just remaped it, And I would like to reset everything to be save only mods are jardine exhaust and side air breather with K&N. Im a noob but thanks
 
ok..have EMC spy version 1.12.26, its installed, driver installed, it hooks up and detects the ECM and everything is good to go. However I want to back up my original EEPROM and cant figure it out. I don't have an EEPROM tab like the guide shows. I can find EEPROM if I select "file" menu, however I can not select any of the options (load map, save map,load EEPROM, Save EEPROM,) except I can select the exit option.

maybe it isn't connecting or detecting correctly?
 
Need to put it in Professional mode...

i dont know if my question will be answered since im posting on an old thread but i downloaded ecmspy using wine or my mac and ecmspy wont run it says that there is a problem or defiency in the program and cannot be opened has anyone downloaded ecmspy using wine and it worked if so shoot me a private message thanks
 
Hello to all, New to the forum and a first time buell owner. Ive had the bike (XB12Ss)for a couple weeks, already put 1200 miles on. Im running a full Micron with a K&N and re-maped stock ecm. Would anyone be willing to send me a copy of ecm spy? I plan on installing the race ecm soon. Anyone have suggested performance mods?

btw those microns arent very good. but since im really nice id be willing to trade you my hawk pipe for it.
 
Kona, may want to cut him a bit of slack. ;) I had broken my server again, link may not have been working.

I actually thought I had lost the whole thing entirely! That would have sucked! =)
