ECM Spy Download

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I extracted the ECM Maps and there is nothing under the folder for Stock 2004 XB. Every other year has a mapping for stock and race, except for the stock 2004 folder is empty???

Mapping, yes - just don't try to flash the whole EEPROM. Just enter maps and other settings over to your stock EEPROM manually using the '05 to go by.

anyone know of a step-by-step showing me what to do for this? or can someone walk me through it.

All I am doing is replacing my TPS sensor, so I only need to do what is necessary for that. i am a little worried about screwing something up.

referring to my last post... this is the process I was wanting. It still sounds a little tricky (below). But is this the only process I need to do when I connect the bike to ECM Spy after installing the new TPS sensor?

11.1 How to perform a TPS reset
(This chapter applies for models with DDFI-2 injections only. Models from 2008 and later are usually
equipped with DDFI-3 and do not require a TPS reset done by a computer any more.)
On the front left of the engine, between the airscoop and the engine, is the idle adjust screw, which
simply adjusts the butterfly in the injector to allow air through for tickover.
• Connect the bike with the computer
• Turn ignition on and set kill switch to the run position
• Turn out this screw until the throttle voltage doesn't decrease any more
• Keep winding the screw two additional turns
• Close the throttle with light clockwise pressure on the throttle grip. The butterfly is fully closed
if it sticks inside the manifold. It's essential, that this is done whith care, as the TPS reset
needs to be done with the butterfly fully closed!
• Click the "Reset TPS ..." button to perform TPS calibration
• Turn idle adjustment cable clockwise until TPS degrees read 5.2 - 5.6 degrees. This setting is
just to make the engine start and needs to be adjusted to correct idle speed with a warm
engine afterwards.
• Run vehicle until engine temperature is at least 140 °C or 285 °F
• Set idle speed to 1050-1150 min -1

ok, my question. I have a stock 09 firebolt ECM. I now have a voodoo exhaust and breather rerought mod. so lessrestricktion of air going in and less back pressure going out. I want to change the way my bike thinks to match the changes for more power etc.

Can i remape my stock ECM, if yes what do i need and where can i get it. I have a pc with windows 7. Can anyone help I want my bike to run its best.

im stuck... cant get my computer to recognize the bike using the cable. perhaps i didnt install the driver correctly? can anyone offer some advice asap? thanks

how do i install the driver package? I have it downloaded, but when I extract it, there is no installer or anything. someone got screenshots to help out this poor guy?

Oh sorry i forgot there was no installer with that one...

Plug in your cable to the bike and your computer. it sounds like you'll get a notification that you do not have incorrect drivers.

Right click "my computer" or computer if you have win7 or vista
click "manage"
expand "device manager"
look for "ports (COM&LPT)
If you have the incorrect driver it will have a yellow "!" over the icon but otherwise look for usb/serial... i think...
right click on it and "update driver"
Select browse computer for driver software or "i will choose what driver to use" (i think that winXP's option.
Go to the extracted folder of the drivers and select the driver in that folder and hit ok.
Click finish and viola!

Let me know if that helped you out or otherwise let me know what OS you are using.

i have tried both 64-bit windows 7, and also 32-bit windows XP... both will not recognize the driver. I also tried to let the windows 7 machine search online, but still no luck. quite frustrating cause I got my new TPS sensor in and am just wanting to do a TPS reset, because I have to, right?

Fair warning, the download link is going to be broken for a while. I'm adding some storage space (bestbuy has 1.5TB hard drives on sale for $80) and upgrading to Ubuntu 10.04. I'll give a shout when it's back up.

I put in a new TPS sensor on my 2004 XB12S. I wasnt able to get ecmspy to link up to my bike correctly so I wasn't able to do a TPS reset.

Is it absolutely necessary to do a TPS reset when replacing the sensor? Cause I started the bike up and it seems to be idling correctly and running fine.

If I have to have it reset than I can take it to the local HD shop, they quoted me $43 to do a reset.

Thanks.
