Hawk Performance Mufflers!!!

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I shipped it off yesterday. It took me a while cuz they origionally wanted to charge me $115 to ship it. I went back yesterday and it was only like $50 so I'm thinking it was some foul play in there somewhere. Anyway he should have it by Wed. of next week so keep your fingers crossed! He said it won't take long to get it ready.

He done mine in a day so turn around is fantastic. Snow is melting...wax is out....not long now. Just ordered a K&N.............deep breath and wait.

Got my Hawk in today! Now if I could only get my bike back from Harley and running... [mad][mad][mad]

Note: the pipe i sent in was for the 1125s. this is so he can have one for you 1125 fellas ;)

YEA!!!!!!! Thanks alot paulr! Cant wait to see what happenes. I have a 08 1125R. Wanted a drummer but thats gonna take alot of piggy banks.

Is this exhaust basically the same as a drummer, i.e. gut everything out of the stock bike and shorten it a little and you're done?

Anyone know?

If that's the case I'll do it myself... if there is more to it (which I doubt), I'll send mine to Hawk as well.

Man I sure hope not. If thats the case those guys are makin a KILLIN for nutn. With Randy youll get a pipe and UNBEATEN customer service. just call and see for yourself. he can help with all kinds of stuff besides the exhaust. [up]

I respect what Special Ops, Drummer and Hawk are doing: a lot of ppl don't have the tools or skills to cut up the stock exhaust and weld it back together, so they have a place.

I also think that if indeed all these supposedly AMAZING pipes are nothing more than a gutted stock pipe (basically like a Jardine, which is just a tube with packing in it), Hawk is the only one charging a reasonable price for the job...

Now can someone direct a flash light into the tip of their Hawk exhaust and tell us what they see? :)

I think I am gonna try my hand at makin my own drummer like set up, you think I could get the steel mesh at Lowe's?

From what I understand from Randy, there is a lot more than just a gutted pipe. He gave me some of the details on what he did but my memory is fading fast. I had a Jardine on my bike for a week and there is no comparison to the Hawk. Hawk makes better power and sounds 200% better. Best money I spent on my bike so far.

Thanks. If he can turn them around in 1 day, it can't be too complicated either...

Hey Randy, if it is more complicated than the can shown in the above pic, please confirm it so I can send you my pipe :)

Don't let the quick turn fool you. He has done a lot of work and he just now has the work perfected. He did a lot of testing on mufflers before he got where he is at now.

You always get those people with that "its just a simple job" attitude. I've been in the plumbing industry for over 14 years and I always get the "its just a simple job" crap. Well if its such a simple job, why are you calling me? Do you know how many "simple jobs" I've had to fix for people that had that kind of attitude and got in over their head? I lost count along time ago. I have learned to respect each and every persons own little expertise and realize there are tons of "simple jobs" I'm better off leaving to those people who have done the research and engineering and have the skill to get the job done right the first time. Its cheaper in the long run. Hey Randy, I am anxiously awaiting your 1125 results. From what I've read and learned about you, it will be worth the wait.

Triple7, that is too true. Its a simple job when you have spent years perfecting your trade, have all the right tools and knowledge.

Yep, I've seen people who've done their first muffler home mod and while they may have gotten decent results they looked like crap and the welds were so horrendous. Of course I know there are guys who can weld real good so this does not apply to you. If you have a number of pipes I guess you could experiment but I didn't have that luxury so I went with Randy.

yeah I am gonna definitely get an extra muffler before I cut into mine. My dad used to weld rail cars after they were damaged/wrecked so welds wont look like **** and I might end up sending mine to Randy after I find out that mine sucks, but worth a shot and a fun project maybe

I wasn't trying to be an ass. I mentioned that I respect these guys for what they do. I am just asking what the job actually entails.

My references for the drummer that everyone raves about:

For all I know this is wrong, but a few ppl seem to confirm "it's as simple as that if you can do it"... it's a legitimate question imo.
