It will run OK with just a pipe or a K&N. If both are put on the bike, then you'll need to get a tune.

Here are some pics of my muffler. Randy got the muffler on Friday and will be shipped to me tomorrow. Now thats service

Thanks Dave. Now the next qeustion would be, are there any tunes I could do myself or should I have it done at a performance shop?

I hope randy does not get sick of doing this, I think I plan to send him my muffler when the snow starts falling.

He does this because it actually loves doing it. He is super enthusiastic about his work and it can been seen in any conversation you have with him. I can't see him going away any time soon.

Got my muffler today. Took about an hour to change it out. All I have to say is wow. It has a very deep sound at idle and sounds great on the power. Never even noticed the exhaust valve missing as I did with the Jardine. It has a bit more bottom end and mid range than stock and way better than the crappy Jardine. Still has a slight pop on decelleration but nothing near as harsh as the Jardine. Highly reccomend this to anyone. Randy is a top notch guy. :D:D:D:D:D .Two thumbs up for Hawk Performance [up][up]

Randy is the man! He got mine today and should be shipping it back out tomorrow. All around killer guy who does it for the love of it and thats the way it should be done. I will let you know how the finished product turns out but I am pretty sure it will be as amazing as all the rest he has done.

I gotta say...I'm real happy to see the buzz that Hawk is getting on this forum! He's a stand up guy and deserves every bit of business that comes his way! [up]

Oh...I haven't forgot about the flyby clip but it when from raining to a chance of snow in Pittsburgh today!![mad][mad][mad] Not cool...I'm hoping there will be a few more bearable riding days before winter really hits us...I'll post more clips as I can.

Further update on my Hawk Muffler. Can't wipe the smile from my face. Took it for a better run yesterday. Low and midrange is way better than stock. It tries to lighten the front a lot more than before. Also noticed a big difference up top. Rolling on the power at 140KPH and it really hauls up to 180...stopped it there for a stop sign. Went to the dealer and I had HD guys drooling all over it as soon as I hit the starter. Sounds better than anything I have heard before. Real nice deep thump at idle and great sound at higher speed. The HD guys said it was the best sounding muffler thay have heard. I'll try to get some video if the weather ever improves here.

To anyone on the fence about this, I challenge you to find one person that isn't satisfied with theirs.

I love mine!

How does it compare to the Spec Ops approach? Spec Ops keeps the valve.
367 mile ride from home to Randy's shop. It would be so cool to ride out, "git-r-done" and ride home.
It will take longer to save up for the Drummer. But I love the look and tone of the Drummer SS. Increases torque across the band while pipes like Jardine turn the flat curve to a bell curve.
Buying a house this month so I have to wait no matter what I decide.

The valve is not utilized but is left in. Randy could tell you more as to the differences.

Knowing Randy, He would likely accommodate! [up][up]

Give him a call! You won't be disappointed!!

Make sure you give yourself time for the paint to dry.:D

If you like the Drummer SS look and still want to go with Hawk, you might want to consider Jet Coating the whole muffler?

He doesn't use the valve. I sent him a XB9 Muffler to do for my 12Ss. The bike pulls like a bear now. Never know there is no valve. Go for it. You won't be disapointed and you save money.

Cool. Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to do the ship out/back in January. Last February we had some nice 72 degree weekends.
:D

BTW, I read that after change the exhaust and intake, running the Buell for 20 minute at or above 3500RPM will teach the ECM the new set up.
If I do the Hawker in January I might as well order the K&N at at the same time. I have K&N's on both of my Jeeps. Great products.
