I'm with xtremelow on this one. Randy's got my exhaust at the moment working his magic on it. Can't wait to get it back and fire the angry beast up...only to sit in the house and watch the snow fall...for now

^^^the first time you turn it over will be one of the happiest times on your bike! I can't tell you how giddy I was when I kicked mine over for the first time! Like getting a new bike...

Any of you guys sent your exhausts back to Randy to have him quiet it down a bit? I love my exhaust but it's a little loud for the kind of area I live in but I was curious how much it actually quiets it down. I know he has a few different volumes, all of which I heard are still loud haha. I'll probably try calling him later but I just got to work and am still a little tired.

Might as well post mine up in his thread. I personally don't care for the dual outlet design he has so I asked for a large single tip. All I had to do was pay the difference [up] went with a Stainless 4" tip. Got the pipe back and decided to have it ceramic coated but it was mainly to cover the tip some more and I hate the paint prep so I wasn't all about heat paint which would have been fine, bur ceramic was $45 from a loal shop so still a fair price.

the quiet version consists of washers welded in the tips. im sure he would be willing to put them in or just send you the washers. call him up though.

I wish those home made silencers someone made actually worked out well. I was excited to try making some of those, but then he came back and said they didn't really work at all. I have one of those cheap HF flux wire welders that I bought just to learn on, but I've never really messed with it. I wonder if it would work well enough to get some washers in there.

I know what thread you are talking about and last time i read it it worked well. I just saw the conclusion of it. I can only assume welded in washers would have the same affect.

This makes me think about a method i saw Dr. Dyno perform. He tunes harleys mostly. I know a guy that brought his bike with straight pipes to him and he left with a nice tune. There was a dip in the power curve that was "flipped" over by the time he was done and a jet change helped the afr. He also added a washer that was attached to a bolt. This allowed the angle of the washer to be changed. I found a thread about the method here http://www.harleychatgroup.com/forums/showthread.php/37744-Drag-pipe-adjustable-baffles. perhaps you could give it a shot

That's nice xtreme! I'd like to have one of those on my 9, but the shipping to Norway would kill me I guess. Do you know the weight of that baby?

I would guess 15lbs, not to sure maybe 20lbs. If I hadn't just installed it last night and seen this post I would have just weighed it [smirk]
