it does on the front end...so the thing will have to be damn near 1/3 full to dain..that's why i asked if that goo would evaporate. If not I may tap a 3/8 thread into the lower front side and add a petcock there.

it's a decent sized catch can so my HOPE is that it never fills all the way up. It's not perfect, but i'll ride it around and see how it does, worst case scenario, ill buy that 130$ catchcan from ASB that mounts on the oil cooler.

nice rig, powdercoat it black!

on pages 3&4 are a few shots of catchcans running north/south beside the oil cooler...
when I first saw your post of the catchcan you were buying that was the first place my minds eye thought it should go if it was on BamBam...
(puts your petcock on the bottom too)

just a thought
:)

Budda. I tried and tried and tried to put it there. With the filter and size of the can, it just would not fit with the hardware I had. I'm going to ride it around and see how it goes. If I can't drain it easily, ill just order the asb catchcan.

No can on mine. The 6 in. of tube holds enough between drainings.

Extended for service...

Stowed behind the tail section when running...

How do you keep that plug from popping out? Is it just pushed into the line tight with no clamp?

Pockets; I think the plugs most people use are threaded or barbed. they hold in pretty tough. Unless pulled or forced out they wont fall out on there own.

I managed to find the filter at advanced. It was the same one stevenc150 posted.(+1rep) And finished my project.

I cut the front head vent valve tube, straightened the rear head vent valve. Connected both of them to a T.

Ran the third line down the frame, removed the bolts to the fan, ran in between the fan shroud, and the frame.

Cut the new line (purchased 2' 3/8th line) just past the lock cyl (I have an 05 xb12R)and installed a new 't' and the filter.

From the 't' i followed the fuel tank vent line,& fuel delivery line. Zip tied the line after filter to the fuel delivery line.

*note : I used the cut peice of the line from the front head vent valve after the filter to the catch can. (it has a 90* bend in it and allows it to stick next to the frame nicely.)

My catch can is an old medicine bottle. I taped it with some black velor tape so it matches the frame and surrounding pieces.

Not much left over, 4" maybe.

I'm not on the web much, i'll get pic's and put them up soon though. (soon for me might be days.) Anyone here should have read enough of these to do there own I hope. lol.

Hey guys,I'm new to the site but thankful for all the input. Im preparing to do the crankcase breather mod and I'd like to open the air box while i'm at it by drilling some vent holes. My question is will I need a TPS re-set. I've got an 05' XB12R with the race kit, pipe, map, filter. I've seen similar questions posted but none specific to the OEM race set-up. Thanks for the response in advance. I'll attach pics of my bike soon.
fourtygrit..

Thanks for the response Dallasb, I don't have ECMspy and cable. From what I've read, no changes needed to TPS with the crankcase breather mod, but if I do the crankcase breather mod and open the air box? Whats needed?

I think he meant at the very least, if you do a breather re-route AND open air box then a TPS reset would be good.

Anybody ever have the check engine light come on after this mod. 5 miles after the install the light came on. I'm thinking I might have knocked something outta wack when I had the airbox off. Other that that, the bike runs now runs great.

just did this mod, after my second day of owning a 03 firebolt xb9r its great I could tell instantly the idle is alot smoother

Yellow50, I would start by checking all of your sensors. Most of the connections for the sensors are in that area.
