Let's talk guns

what happens to the owners of 5n7's if the gun is banned?

New Orleans style collections and gun roundups?

Delta One - I would pass on the Glaser rounds. Do a bit of searching on google to find that they consistently fall short on penetration. They make one hell of an ugly looing wound, but that may not be enough to incapacitate a bad guy when you need to.

there is a delicate balance between under penetration and over penetration, not sure what side of that edge I would like to be.

BUT That is two bueller gun guys against glaser rounds, I'll take your guys's word on it over the glasser media propaganda and stick to cor-bon ammo for defense use and ball rounds for cutting paper.

28003, looking good! How is that LPK? Good quality parts? For $55 I am thinking about getting one just to have it.

Seems like quality parts. Trigger pull is nice and break is clean and crisp, not "crunchy" like some are known to be. Everything fits nice and tight. My only beef: the safety selector is kinda loose, but it works. I'm happy with it and would buy it again so far. We'll see how well it works with the upper in the future.
FYI, I was gonna order the Daniel Defense LPK but some sites were out of stock and others were expensive and came with the A2 grip, which I would've replaced anyway.

Delta One - Please don't take my word on it. Don't know if you've every checked out brassfetcher.com or theboxotruth.com, but both are valuable resources when you aren't wealthy enough to buy various types of ammo to try out for yourself.

I've never shot any Cor-Bon, but from everything I've read it's loaded fairly hot which makes for a good performer.

I agree there's a fine line between under penetration and over penetration, but once you start factoring in clothing, weird body angles, whether the bad guy had his arms in front of him, etc. I'd much rather have too much punch than not enough. Just my .02

I have never been to brassfetcher but I have visited boxoftruth a few times, I really liked the Buick of truth [smirk]

for cor-bon I know that Massad Ayoob recommends it especially in 9mm and he has probably forgotten more about guns and shooting than I will ever know. if you haven't yet look up some of his stuff on the net, there are also a few institutional youtube videos available.

ok after looking a bit I am not too worried about under penetrating with a Glasser round in a .357 magnum, energy on target will be severe enough to drop nearly anybody and the subsequent follow up shots will do the rest.

In a 9mm I'm sticking to Cor-Bon

in my .22? dang I don't think it matters much[confused]

Scope rings are back-ordered, but I got one of these guys!

That would be an ERTL Force One Die Cast M16 from 1989. I had the full set as a kid, now I just have the M16 and a M60.

The plastic ones that you get for 25-50 cents out of the toy machines (commonly at the enterance of a grocery store) are surprisingly detailed. I used to get them for my GI Joes as a kid :)

So the lowers for the ar15s that I'm seeing on here, do they have selector switches for semi and full auto? Sorry if it's a dumb question but I just got my first ar a few months ago and would like some more info on building them. I would like to learn how to build my own as well as learn mods and maintaining my own. I read the manual but it only goes so far.

They have the markings, but the selector only goes between safe and single fire. To get full auto:
1. Apply for NFA tax stamp (its $200, takes 6 months, and you probably won't get it for full auto, but you can for a suppressor)
2. Then you can get the lower kit for full auto
3. And then get a full auto BCG unless your AR already came with one (some do, some don't)

ar15.com is a very helpful site. just beware of the egos and bias opinions there and you'll find a wealth of info.

They also have some out there that say frenzy.

As far as I know It's almost impossible to buy a full auto ar.

The only way to buy a full auto ar is if it was made in the 80's

Another way is to buy an internal part which is like 2 G's

no one will sell you the post-ban full auto internal parts (in the lower receiver) without the tax stamp as it is illegal to own it and illegal for them to sell it

btw, possessing a post-ban full auto w/o the stamp is "tax evasion". and they will put you in federal "pound-me-in-the-ass" prison for 10 years, fine you from $100,000-$250,000 and you will never be able to legally own a firearm again.
if you really want full-auto, become a LEO

.....or wait til the zombie apocalypse and steal one

New to my collection is a Smith and Wesson 40 caliber and a extreme ops switchblade. Best Christmas presents I have gotten from my parents ever.

This is what I'm rocking right now. 12 gauge shotgun, AR-15, steyr m9 and a .357. I keep the m9 and shotgun loaded for home defense. I often carry the m9 as well. The AR is for the zombie apocalypse, a foreign invasion of some sort or for when we need to organize the Buell Militia. Whatever comes first. ;)
