Just heard back from EBR. They say either buy the 08 stator and rotor OR an 09-10 stator with their rotor (the later being what they use in the 1190RS) so i will be going this course. Stator will be around $550-$600 and the rotor after core charge is refunded will be like $200. Plus misc. parts and tools needed to do the job.

Well I had an interesting week, on Sunday I got sideswiped by a truck and the ******* ran, simehow I didn't get hit myself or fall. I chased after the guy got his plate number as he ran a red light to get away from me. Went home and drove my car to the police department and reported it. They found the guy and he admitted to it but "didn't realize he hit me at the time" so he's getting charged out the ass and lizzy will be fixed at Brian's HD/Buell once I get the insurance an accident report. It's weird tho only damaged the right passenger peg, heel guard, tail section, right blinker, and license plate. He must have missed my leg by an inch or two.

didn't even touch the axle slider or rim that I noticed, but ill have hd check if its bent.

Wow.

So stoked that you're not hurt AND YOU CHASED THIS A**HOLE DOWN!

Can you tell us any more about the collision? Was he overtaking you on the right or something?

Now you need this for Lizzy!

well it was at a merge point on the highway where it went from two lanes to one, I merged behind two cars and a second later the one in front hit his brakes so I did as well slowing down to about 20 mph? and as i was easing off the brakes I heard tires screeching behind me and the crack of an impact along with me getting shoved about a foot to the left. I immediately looked to the right and saw a male driver in a black Toyota pickup and went after him hoping he would pull over, he sped on as i was flashing my lights at him for about a half mile till the next intersection, he got into the left lane and ran the red turn arrow as oncoming traffic had the green. I stopped got off my bike and saw the damage and went home to get my car and drive to the police department. Luckily I got and remembered the make and the license plate of his truck. As of today I'm waiting on the police report (should be done Friday or Monday) and a call back from my insurance company.

Thank you! Had a blast last night, local bar had an end of the world party. I am just waiting for a Geico adjuster to come look at the bike then I can proceed with getting a new peg heel guard blinker and tail section. And also to whoever hasn't seen the post i made earlier this week I am interested in trading my CR for a 2008 1125R with under 25,000 miles PM me if interested!

Well since its been about two months since ive posted anything here i figured id update on what i have been doing. Pretty much the only thing i did was put the stock license plate fender on as the one i had on before was bent from the accident. I just ordered the clutch actuator cylinder kit from EBR yesterday and will be putting it on when it arrives. Future plans are to find a burnt out stator from a 2009-2010 1125 and i will be doing the rewind myself via some confidence from a couple write ups on the badweb and will also switch to a series type voltage regulator and while im at it i will be doing the rotor mod from EBR as well. Since September i have barely ridden Lizzy at all as i only put about 800 miles since then. Mainly due to the colder winter we have had here this year and more snow. Ive priced everything out and it will be about $1,200-$1,300 for everything (stator, wire, epoxy/loctite, rotor, clips, voltage regulator and a lithium ion battery to free up some space and increase reliability vs. a lead acid battery. The process will be taking place over about a 2-3 month period from the first purchase to the completed project. If anyone has a burnt up stator for a fair price or generous enough to donate it let me know! I feel very confident from research that this will eradicate all charging issues and maintain the high output of the 09-10 charging system.

1125 Charging System Overhaul

well nj devil I'm new to the forum, and a new Buell rider. I was curious as to where you are from in nj? I thought I was the only cr rider lol not exactly a popular bike, but its awesome I have to say that.

Nice to see njdevil back. Reading your story has helped me be an CR owner as of last last week. I've not really gotten a chance to ride but, I like it a lot! Thanks for all of your input.

I read here you had the charging isssues that many have had with the 1125's. Luckily I bought mine and it already had an 08 charging system in it. I'm from woodbridge, not that far really, I have family in Flemington. Btw, have you replaced your stock battery at all? My bike only has 6700 miles but I can't tell if it really needs a new battery or not. When I ride it once in a while it starts fine, but if I don't ride it for a while it really has trouble cranking, maybe more than it should. I had somebody run a load test on it, they said it was fine, but I'm still weary. I'm thinking of going for a long ride to VA maybe when it gets warmer and I don't want any breakdowns. I'm asking this without trying to sound like an idiot because I know you have far more miles than I do.

I bought my bike with 4,100 miles and it had a new battery in it and it was replaced in Florida at 14,500 miles I have been having starting issues lately because of the cold and lack of riding lately so I'm probably due for a new one. I am doing some research and looking into a lithium ion battery. They tend to hold a charge over a longer period of time and there is a good weight saving over the lead acid. Prices are about the same for aftermarket and a new HD battery costs $150 this will be my next purchase in about a week or so from now.

I'll look into it then thanks. The last thing I want is to go for a long ride and my battery crap out. Went for a ride today, I keep checking the forecast everyday hoping we're gonna get some nice warm days lol. If the price is reasonable I see no reason why not to change to that.

Well I completed the install of the EBR clutch actuator kit. Overall an easy install and took about an hour to complete. I did not have the clutch removal tool and used some redneck innovation with a 17mm socket a large pair of vice grips (5-7in in length) a 5or 6mm Allen key (I forget what size I used) and channel locks to hold the Allen key in place.

The old kit, removal of the cylinder required a hydrolic hand press. As did installation of the EBR kit.

The spring and snap ring are reused

Some grooves in the clutch cover I don't see any major issues with this.

The factory kit on the bottom and EBR's on the top. The EBR kit's cylinder is more heavy duty than the stock and the piston has added o-rings for leak protection.

There is a night and day difference between having 25%clutch and now having 100% shifts a hundred times better and I can find neutral again haha. Time to rack up the miles!

Well it's official, my riding season has started! Time to put the Subie away for the summer haha. My goal this year is to have 30,000 miles on lizzy by December 31st, 2013. 1,000miles per month minimum. Last year I managed a little under 15,000 miles in a year with my 3,600 mile trip to Florida so I see this as a reasonable goal. Screw the charging fears, get out and ride your 09-10s!

I second that! This weekend is gonna be warm, and I'm gonna ride every single day that isnt raining. Everyone always looks at me like I'm cray for riding, but the more I ride my cr, the crazier I think they are cause they're the ones missing out.
