15 years, Army Reserves. Started off as a 63Y Track Mechanic, then 12B Combat Engineer. Commissioned through ROTC into the Engineer Corp in 2004. Deployed the Iraq 2007-08, based out of BIAP. Was the HSC Commander (hated that job) but also ran the Personal Security Detail (Convoy Ops) and did some Route Clearance and Rapid Crater Repair (loved those jobs). Afghanistan 2011-12, out of Khost, Paktia, and then Camp Mike Spann. Hated every bit of that deployment, except working with the Afghan National Army and rooming with the Canadians, eh? Other than that, it was the worst year of my life. Currently working with a Reserve Unit in SC, in the Operations section. Looking for another (3rd) Company Command, just for fun. Staff sucks, but being a Company Commander is the best job in the Army. ESSAYONS!!!

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that Dobeck has $75.00 off their TFI units " similar but better than powercommander" for all military.

Thanks for the great response I know that I served, but I appreciate all of the service from all branches guys. So how does everyone feel about Syria?

Yeah I know I feel the same way about Syria and being the worlds police when we have enough problems here, but at the same time I wish that I could fight next to my brothers. Everyone knows how it is we may not agree with it but we are still a family that wants to stay alive.

Unfortunately there are vets homeless and living on the Streets in Dallas. I try to volunteer down there on weekends near the Bridge, but I have not been in a while. Anyone want to go let me know and I can give more details. I am not an organizer or anything, I am just someone who volunteers. There are about 600 to 1000 homeless that show up and roughly about 100 are veterans.

That's a very admirable thing you're doing Tbone. I've volunteered with the Minneapolis VA hospital a couple of times. I wish I had more free time to do more.

MN Army Guard, 2008-present, Military Police.
Basra, Iraq - '09-'10. I was on a PSD team also with MND-S and theater command. I really felt like I got to see much more than the guys in my unit stuck at ECPs
I've volunteered 8 or 9 times for Afghanistan deployments without result.

Did some over seas training in Grafenwoehr and Croatia too. I loved Croatia!

Now stateside and man, state side bases dont do ****! I dont mean to offend anyone with this but at least in the cop world its so easy to pan things off to local authorities unless directly involved that people just seem retarded due to lack of experience. But it is sweet to be able to leave base and just be a civilian and speak English to anyone lol

Thanks for the support, I really can't take or want much credit. My wife, her best friend, other volunteers, are the real troppers going downtown Dallas every weekend, as well as working during weeknights to recieve and prepare donations.
Some of the homeless Vets are out of the Dallas VA Hospital, and/or are struggling along with other homeless there. What is difficult is when you go for years get attached and do not see any results, only see tragedy, it seems almost hopeless. Then you watch the volunteers that overcame the same obstacles, and really can relate to those that legitimately need help. I have not been through it myself so I cannot relate, comprehend, judge, what they have been or are going through, but I have been humbled greatly. Thanks again.
