As someone who has never served, but who had a friend killed while deployed to Afghanistan, I'd like to give sincere thanks to vets on this board and elsewhere.
And since this thread had already taken a political tone, I'll add that I am also disappointed & disgusted with how the Defense branches of our Federal Governments have become so obviously corrupt that they treat their vets, their budgets, and even civilians, so recklessly & callously. [mad]
I am not a vet, but come from a family of and have friends that are vets and currently serving. I just want to say thank you, for all the sacrifices you have made for us.
The way the government treats you guys is completely disgusting.
How do you like being a skimmer now? I was at the point of going LDO and didn't want to since it would have forced me to the surface fleet. I guess after I got out, they started letting LDOs back on boats - but it was too late for me...
I have t done anything special yet like all of you guys. Currently stationed at Nellis AFB as an Electrical/Environmental troop. It's an interesting job to say the least and so far it's pretty awesome.
Thank you to all of those on this forum who have served or currently serving.

Yeah, its that simple mrlogix. The problem is, that it is that simple! So with that being said just ride the wave out because nothing will change. Ha change! The only thing that has changed since he has been in office is that we are more messed up now than we were before with no way out of this hole even if we did start fresh!
Yes, that is true, but we will out live him and his legacy. There is still hope as long as we never forget and the Corps lives forever. We have survived tyrants and idiots greater than what we have now. A lot has changed and yes some things will never return back, but the true courage and strength of the country is in it's everyday citizens. Keep the faith my friend.
