Hawk Performance Mufflers!!!

Stopping by his place tomorrow to do a pipe swap. Looking forward to meeting him and picking his brain!

Wasn't sure if I could broaden my search, or just make sure I find a pipe that was meant for a 9.

Either pipe will fit. The 9 muffler is a lot lighter than the 12 muffler. Randy does not use the valve in the 12 muffler so other than the weight it will be the same at the end of the day.

It is awesome to hear Randy has sold hundreds of these pipes not excepting payment until after you get his product back and has not been stiffed yet.

Pat youselfs on the back Buell owners! We r just good peoples!
He told me he did ~800 and never got jipped. Not sure if I heard that number right.

I almost feel obligated to screw him just to be original! Alas though, I won't.

I sent him a butchered, gutted pipe that wouldn't even run on the bike. I can't wait to see what the results are. I know he had to custom repair the whole damn thing. Custom backplate and everything.

Good man.

Randy is a dude who has learned that a satisfied customer is worth more than any "marketing" campaign.
Because he is affordable and fast, he gets to feed his inner capitalist (a good thing to have) and share his craft with an enthusiastic riding community.
I doubt the rice community would so supportive.

I have the Hawk exhaust on my 09 Uly and I love it. I also have a K&N air filter. The bike runs great now but would a race ECM programmed for the K&N and the Drummer exhaust be beneficial?

Word on the street is that Randy is on his 13th revision of the 1125r pipe.

He's close, but still tweaking it.

And an xb pipe is on it's way to eb racing.

Got my pipe delivered today and so excited to put it on. Really disappointed that I am leaving out of town and will not be back until Monday! Can’t wait to hear that thing growl!

Randy could you send me an 1125 with your pipes for an in depth performance review? [smirk]

Post a pic Randy. Did u finally get the sound u wanted? Are u going to have a sound clip anytime soon?

Okay. Can folks post up as to what volume level they went with? I'm guessing that the early buyers (last fall and winter) didn't have an option. Now there is "loud, medium, and quiet." I'm curious as to what folks got so I can compare back to the early opinions. Also, if you'd chime in as to whether you would change volume levels if you could. Thanks much!!! [up]

I went with the quiet pipe. Randy told me its just a bit louder than the race pipe so i went with that. I've heard a jardine and race pipe and i liked the volume of the race so i was happy with my choice. When i got the pipe and installed it man did it pound! I'm not sure of Randy's use of the word quiet is fitting because its still pretty loud. I wonder what his loud pipe sounds like...

After getting used to it i really like it because it does have a deeper tone and it does not reverb inside my helmet when i'm just cruising or riding around through town... I never asked my neighbors yet what they think of it though... I am very happy with my choice and would recommend it to anyone!

Got mine last October and it's the original "loud" one. I don't have alot to compare it to other than an X1 with a Force Exhaust and an XB12 with a D&D. It's not as loud as the Force (hearing this rev had my ears ringing for the rest of the evening) is and is probably comparable with (maybe a bit quieter) the D&D in loudness but has a deeper note to it than the D&D. It actually doesn't seem as loud once you're driving. I've never felt like it droned in my helmet. I'm quite happy with it and would recommend it. I'm sure the more quiet Hawk versions sound good as well but I believe that the performance goes down as the loudness does based on a conversation w/ Randy.

I had planned on getting the quiet version, but after talking to Randy I wasn't sure if I wanted to give up the performance for the volume, considering I haven't ridden/heard one to know what the volumes or power gains would be anyway, so I just told him to do what he thought was best. I'll see how it goes.
