I think I will jump on the Hawk wagon. I am between deployments so I should be home for a few months but my question is after reading Randy's website is $195 including shipping correct? That seems kinda low? I have a 09 12R and I already tied open the exhaust valve so will it be removed or left in place? The about turn around time? I know I'm asking lots of noob questions but I was determined to keep my bike stock until I heard a Buell with a (no idea what pipe) pipe so I was bitten.

yep..i got my pipe back from Randy last week..and i had a jardine on it with the race ecm.
sounds better and better low end by far.
might have lost a tiny bit on the top end but who cares?
he has helped me out more than once and will tell you what you need to know..if he doesn't know or isnt comfortable he will steer you in another direction.
i talked with his buddy mel today and he was helpful with the ecm spy.

Well after reading everything I think I'm going to try to find a used XB exhaust to send to Randy and if I can't find one I'll just send him mine. I'm so excited!

So what is the difference between the quiet, medium, and loud version in terms of volume and performance?

I can't tell you, but I have the regular Hawk (loud) and when I bought it Randy said he would make it quieter at no charge if it was too loud.

I like it, it is a bit loud but I don't really mind that :)

Give him a call and talk to him about it. He will answer all of your questions.

Anyone have the best results with the hawk either by stock map or race map? Anyone dyno it yet or did a custom map for the hawk on a dyno? I have an 07 xb12 with the hawk and kn and breather mod and using ngk8s but thinking of trying my ngk9s. Want to take it to the dyno but the local shop here charges too much.

Hey Randy , I take it your email is still no good to Australia ! How's me muffler goin buddy ? Cheers mate regards Jed

Well, randy n I just spoke n this man has excellent customer service. We came to the conclusion that every buell is going to react different to upgrades. Some may do well with race map n others may not. My bike is running stronger faster n better throttle response with stock map n o2 sensor off. It's very hot here in Florida. Maybe that helps. But no hesitation, no issues on cruising, no lose of power in any range. My process was first race map n tps reset until it ran good. Then I just remapped ecu after several months with the stock map n o2 off but didn't do another Tps reset. I'm amazed of the difference. I also have a large right scoop for rear cylinder cooling, kn filter, Mobil 1 oils, iridium 8, breather reroute , hawk muffler, air box mod, n header wrap. Everyone should try like me if u have a hawk. Doesn't hurt to try.

I don't have a DIY or anything but it's pretty simple...Just remove the chin fairing, then the pulley cover and use a long extension to get to the rear strap bolts. Remove the front strap bolt and the bolt at the header clamp and it's off!

Reinstall in the reverse order (except install a 5-0dro pulley cover instead! :D )

Edit: If it's an XB 12, you'll also have to disconnect the interactive exhaust cable.

I wish I had known about the Hawk Exhaust before I bought my Jardine this year. I still have my stock exhaust laying around, I really want to send it to Randy but after buying the Jardine I don't have the money to get the Hawk exhaust. [sad]

Anyone want to trade a Hawk exhaust for my Jardine?:D
