Headlight Mod - Both Lights On w/ Hi-Beam

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

hey... I am talking about being both lights (left and right) be lighten at the same time. Both on LOW and both on HIGH. Not on parking mode but standard LOW and HIGH mode...

Is this possible?

With a delay wired in, I don't see why not. It would just be too much of a drain at start up to have both on at once I'd think. Um, but why would you want to have them both able to be on in Low and High? They're the same brightness in either position. The only thing making it seem brighter in High is because of the High beam reflector being a different pattern than the Low reflector. The bulbs are identical and don't use any more power in High.

To do it properly you would need new reflectors that take dual element bulbs (and creative wiring) so you can have a true high low in either switch position
Hella makes some modules that should work.

I wonder if you could just take another XB headlight and remove the reflector portion. Problem then is alignment due to the reflector being in the wrong position (right instead of left only)

Just subscribing, but I think I'd rather have both on while on the low beam setting so I wouldn't get flashed all the time from people because I'm blinding them with high beams.

Wanted to say thanks to speedkills and GatorBuell. Just did the light mod today. After a sore thumb and some patience I was able to get it from the female side. As others have said, this is probably the only thing I didn't like about my xb12scg; now it looks great!

Damn.... I am not finding a small nail... struggled for 30 mins without a nail and gave up finally [sad]

I have a UK beam reflector, meaning my high beam is on the right side. I would really like to trade with someone so I can mod my reflector using both high or low beam reflector parts.

If someone is willing to trade, please let me know! :)

hi, install the HID system on my, have to tell is a lot light, however i became greed and tried do the wire change, well didn't work, does anybody can help out there?

Great mod!! Did it over the weekend and it did take only 15 minutes!! I've seen posts about issues taking the wires out but I had no issues! now I just have to wait for the weather to get above 50! Thanks again for the great FREE Mod!

Awesome! Did this yesterday and works great. No more electric tape to hold the trigger in. I used a small eye-glass flathead screwdriver and if you put it in where the wires are just push it AWAY from the wires and they snap right out.

Maybe i'm a little bit late with this headlight mod but
I just did it on my 10 uly and Love it! Thanks so much...was easy to do and works great. By the way, the guy who didn't like the mod because of the parking light needs to have another think about that useless parking light. Why is it there anyway?
Thanks again....

not going to read 7 pages.... so if this was mentioned already sorry --

I tried to do the mod.. couldnt get the wires out - same trouble as a lot of people, so instead i just cut the wires above the male connector, and put them back together... yellow --> orange orange ---> yellow.

cut the wire, spliced them back, electrical tape... pluged them back in.. and works like a charm.

whole mod took about 3 minutes. give it a shot if you are having trouble "pushing" out the wires

Mace, I agree those wires were a real bear to get out, maybe I should have cut mine, it would have saved me a lot of cursing and bloody thumb. lol
