    05 xb12r clutch cable problems

When mine wore out, it was up by the perch on the bars. With Clutch pulled in, I could see it fraying at the handle. This is what your problems sounds like. Odd that it finally wore out just as you bought it, but that could not have been planned. If you need to replace your cable please be...

I was gonna ask why I have never seen that bike in Tulsa before but then I seen your mileage. I've never seen it because you never rode it. LOL Good luck with the sell. BUMP

My first bike and its a Buell

Most of what he says he is true aside from the fact that in the picture he posted I was in a borrowed Mustang. Much like torque wrenches I have no use or desire to own a ford..LOL And btw lunatic John do you not have a mule that needs shoeing?

XB12s - Lumpy 'Til Warm. Typical?

Thank you for the kind words Todd. I've spent a lot of money on crap. Haha It really has been a great bike. I did forget to mention I replaced the clutch cable around 20,000 miles but that's the only failure I've had. Good luck to you and safe journeys always,Lesley

XB12s - Lumpy 'Til Warm. Typical?

Welcome Todd, You didn't specify how long you warm the bike up. If my bike has sat for a while I let it run a few minutes at the very least. If it has sat over night I let it run approx 8-10 mns before riding. I do this in 90+degree outside temps. These bikes do require a warm up time. I've put...

    Crossroads clip on style bars

Sitting up straight put pressure on my lower back after an hour of riding. I installed Crossroads and now my wrists hurt some times and my hands too. (Yes I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. NO ADVICE NEEDED) I'd rather be leaning into the wind instead of it pushing on me. Honestly though, I'm...

    dealing with local squids

First off I am NOT trying to pick on or debate what is right or wrong but this mentality is EXACTLY why I have rode by myself since I bought my bike 6 years ago. The street/public roadways have one way to ride. That is by the law and limits. NO exceptions. I wished everyone who did not follow...

    engine life expectancy?

I agree but he said : So I figured if he was worried he could change the oil more often. I think you should be able to get at least get 5K miles per change with the synthetics. Not sure about the austrian motors because they are a completely different motor design. The OP has a Harley Davidson...

    Store Gas Cap While Fueling?

Hey now I thought it was a joke thread honestly. I mean I thought it was like a "where to you put your glasses when you aren't wearing them" type of question. Kind of a silly inquiry but apparently the OP appreciated my humor. no harm no foul-

    engine life expectancy?

I also agree with this completely. Even if you buy brand new (any vehicle) there are always chances you bought a lemon. It would be unfair for us to guess or say how long your bike will last. Change the oil every 3,000 miles and use synthetic ALWAYS.

    YOU only have 1 key??

Thanks but it's not really advice, just a friendly reminder. I figure with riding season upon us we all need to be prepared and having an extra key made isn't that expensive. I appreciate the helpful added info from those who offered it and I enjoyed the funny replies too. Thanks for helping...
