Givi bags on a Lightning S

Other than the cost of the loops from TT, there isn't too much to it. I was planning on doing it for my S, too, but it was just easier to buy a Tiger with bags on it already...

Givi bags on a Lightning S

So, my wife is jealous of my hard bags, and finally got me to make her a rack for her XB. Givi does not make a rack for the XBs, and the only off the shelf option is from Hepco Becker. The rack is a little pricey, and the bags are expensive as hell. Instead, she has Givi E21 bags ($250?) and...

Heated grip plug part number or name?

I want to install a cigarette lighter using the unused heated grips plug on my Lightning, but I don't want to cut anything up. Does anyone know what the electical connector is called, or if the male plug has an individual part number?

    DDFI 3 tuning

Ive done it a ton of times, just like you said, and I have never had any issues. Just hook your bike up to the battery charger before you begin, and you'll have nothing to worry about.

    Windshield & Hand guard deflector

The hand guards are the same material is the other black plastic bits. The left side scoop is a good example; they both have the same pebble texture.

    which handlebars?

You would need the two throttle cables and the brake hose, that's it. Just order the cables from the bike whose bars you are running. So, you can run XT bars on a Lightning, just order XT cables, too.

    gps/usb mount

If that is a Garmin Nuvi, you'll like it a lot more if you use the cigarette lighter plug instead of the USB. If you use the USB, it verifies if it is a data connection when in first comes on, so it takes twice as long to boot. I had wired in like yours, just behind the flyscreen, but ditched...

    Help with throttle housing

Just wrap the bar a few times with electrical tape, and tighten the housing over it.

    stock sprockets

Forever? Theyre not like chain sprockets; chains are metal, are belt is rubber. Nothing about the hardness of rubber is going to wear down our sprockets in any time.

How do you think this will sound?

The key is to keep the exhaust gas velocity up, so areas where it goes from a pipe to a chamber are bad. That is the reason why the race pipe makes more power than the stock muffler with the valve open. Even with roughly the same pipe length, the stock pipe open into the front chamber, where the...

How do you think this will sound?

I opened mine and cut out all the tube in the middle section. Should be similar to what you're planning on doing. Sounded ok, didnt' do anything for power.

HELP! Stripped oil drain threads on swing arm.

I just laid my bike on its side and drilled out the hole and retapped it for a 14mm plug. Took like 5 minutes and cost about $10 for a 14mm tap and plug

    xb variations question

Yeah, they are like Legos. All the 12s and 9s share the same motors across the model lineups, excepting some minor changed like the oil pump. The only differences are that the SSs (Uly, STT, and SS) have a slightly longer frame, seat, and swingarm, where the Ss and Rs have a shorter frame and...

how hard is it to change clutch cable ?

Yeah, take it off the grip first, then take off the inspection cover with the 3 T27s. Once in there, remove #11 in the picture, then #12 should fall out. After that #10 comes off #8 by pulling in the cable itself. Make sure #10 doesn't fall into the primary. Then the cable unhooks from #10 and...

    Parts Situation

Yeah, you can still get every stock part, just not accessories. I had to wait 2 months for a part, but most of the ones i've ordered came in a few weeks

I thought ECMSpy was s'posed to be easy??

did you turn your run switch to on on your bike and turn the key? I actually worked for 3 hours "troubleshooting" that problem when I first got it

WTF this was supposed to be a relaxing day!!

No oil will sludge up that much in 6000 miles. There is something in there. If you've already run it like that for a 1000 miles, I would just change the oil in another 1000 miles and make sure it is fluid like regular oil. Even the heaviest weight oil isn't so thick that it wouldn't flow out of...
