Reduced output, low heat alternator kit

Yes..I figured this was common knowledge by now. The "race" rotor/stator is just the 08 parts..! Mike

Reduced output, low heat alternator kit

Funny... I suggested an oil bath years ago..! Early 2010. It's posted somewhere on the "Bad" board..! And yea, to do it right, I'd guess at least two, maybe three oil jets aimed at the stator would do well. One at 10 o'clock and one at 2 o'clock for starters. And yea, bungs for fittings...

ECMSPY (yes, another thread about ECMSPY)

Big - There is many things you won't see on the computer screen until you do two things... 1. Connect a computer to the ECM (need the proper driver..!) 2. Do a "download" of the existing information in your ECM into the computer (save it to your computer!). Then...you can see what is in the...

    Engine intake pressure?

This comment is incorrect for anything other than "perfect", no load conditions. If one uses this ratio for acceleration, 1. it'll accelerate like crap and or 2. it'll detonate so bad, you'll loose the pistons to big holes.... While 14.7 may be close for cruise applications...what road is...

    Need some help!

Yea..an easy thing to check..! Remove the caliper, or back the pads off all the way away from the rotor. The wheel should spin for 45 seconds to a minute with a healthy spin. The only other thing...is the bearings. About the bearings... Make sure the aluminum spacer between the bearings is...

    Ebay ECM SPY is good?

Does anyone got it..? It's not magic, it's just three wires that connect your computer to the ECM. And yes, they work just fine, though mind did not come from e-bay. Just talk to the seller, make sure you can return it if there is problems. How much is the seller asking for them? Mike

1250 kit and head work from Hammer Performance

May I ask...you did remove all those sharp edges from the pistons (valve pockets) didn't you ? Bad things for starting preignition. Mike

    spark plugs

NO such thing as a one piece spark plug...! Please, don't spend your money on "snake oil...!" There's no magic in spark plugs. Mike

    Fix for CR Charging Problems?

Nofi - Neither richer intake...nore Barker exhaust has ANYTHING to do with the stator...! Except that they are connected to the same engine. The stator is set in such a way that that cooling oil cannot properly get to the stator to...properly cool it. While the 08 stator has a lower max...

    Lightning Owner Riding Survey -

    1) how frequently do you ride each week? Daily during the week, occasionally on weekends. 2) shortest ride per week/longest ride per week? 85 miles a day...to and from work. 3) during the "normal" riding months (if not year round), on a monthly basis, what is the distance is your "long...

Do all 07 XB12s run like crap for the first 3+ miles ??

The "Breather Mod" is about as useless as T__'s on a shark. Just sounds like 98% of the rest of the XB/1125 Buells....they need ECM work. I bought my used XB12S, all stock...ran like crap around 3000/3500 rpm. Took me a while, but with the help of ECMSpy, it's great now. Also my 1125CR...

    stainless oil filter

Nothing new..! Been around in the automotive field for a very long time. I still have one...on the shelf. BUT...just as most fads do, they came and for the most part...have left. The cleaning part is most of the reason. While you may think it's clean...look closer. The ultrasonic comment is...

    BRAKE FLUID

I flush my brakes every 8 months or so. On my 1125 Buell, the clutch gets flushed every 6 months. You should be able to find some DOT4. Try different stores. And no...it's not a Buell only thing. All of the sport bikes I've ever had said DOT 4 required. Mike

Best way to deal w/ foggy visor

Yep, Rain-X (or who-ever the maker is) Anti Fog. I also wear glasses. I put it on the inside of the shield and the inside of my glasses. BUT....my new, (almost a year old), Shoei, RF-1100 visor and the Anti-Fog don't seem to work together (not compatable) very well. The shield stays sorta...

    New brake pads

Don't know, never checked...don't really care. I'd much rather pay a litle more for equipment I like rather than pay less for pads the don't work quiet as well or...maybe last a longer. Mike

    Advanced Idle Timing?

burger - Yes, it does smooth out the idle nicely. It also makes the engine run a little cooler when the timing is set where the engine is happy. The "book" setting is not always where the engine wants it to be for the most effective work. Every engine is a little different and will run...

    crackcase breather alternative?

Just leave it alone... It works fine from the factory...! I've experimented on two XB12's. The factory system works just fine as is. Mike

    New brake pads

I also use the EBC, HH pads. I drive 85 miles, daily, rain or shine. These pads are better than any other pads I've used over the many years I've been driving bikes. I've got them on my, XB12S, 1125CR and my old Yamaha R1. But I'm only 6', 250....! Mike

    how to lower a 1125cr?

If you own a CR, you'll quickly realize the forks "can't" be dropped...! All you can to is buy shorter sprongs for both the front AND rear. Another thing that may help, I had my seat redone to make room...well for my nuts..! If you look at the Buell seat design and the Japanese seat design...

    Modifying the radiator shrouds

200...210...at what ambient temp.? I'm in So. Cal. On a 100+/- degree day, splitting lanes on the freeway, my CR runs 185F/190F. On the open road, closer to 180F/185F. On the open city streets, simillar..near 185F. Sitting at a long light, it will just touch 200F, and will start to cool...
