    LED question

You need an LED flasher unit. If you search in the forum, you will find DIY posts on how the stock unit can be modified. Flasher units require a certain amount of load to flash. That is why when one of bulbs burns out the remaining signal flashes fast. By just changing one end on your bike it...

    Hot start detonation (starter kickback)?

I have the same problem. I will try this the next time I fill up or just stop for a leg stretch. It makes sense and sounds like the cause. The bike runs like crap for a few seconds, until I rev it to clear it out. Thanks for the info.

    Help

Take it out and ride it at above 3000 rpms for about 20 minutes, then see what it does. I will probably run fine. If it won't compensate for that small a change in exhaust, it won't accept a Hawk muffler. It will however, just do the learn in ride.

off topic but who here has seen signs of economic recovery in the states

Kelly, I'm sure you probably know Dalton is all carpet industry. There are several jobs open at Shaw (shawfloors.com) for maintenance mechanic. I believe there are some in Cartersville as well which would be an hour closer to you. There is definetely a difference between mechanics and...

off topic but who here has seen signs of economic recovery in the states

Where in Georgia. I live in Dalton (Northwest Georgia) and many of the plants around are hiring maintenance mechanics. Most around here think that if you can weld you are a good maintenance mechanic.

    Interactive Exhaust Valve

The servo can be turned off using tunerpro. You can buy the transistor needed from radio shack. I wasn't able to just buy one, I think it came in a pack of 10 for about $3.00, and a couple of resistors.

    can someone explain this?!?!

My stock Pireli did the exact same thing at 4000 miles. Time for a new tire man.

    Gas Smell

I believe it was mentioned in some of the other threads that putting a charcoal canister in the vent line would probably help. I haven't heard of anyone trying it though. I also have the same assumption about the engine heating up the gas in the frame causing excess vapors. I just leave my...

my buell not start. pls help

I believe our bikes have a bank angle sensor so it shuts the bike off if tipped over. I've heard to reset this you have to disconnect the battery for 5-10 minutes.

    front cyl. blow out

Yes you do work on a lot of Fords for this problem. I had the rear passenger plug blow out of my wifes 5.4 liter Expedition. I repaired my self. It is either the hardest or second hardest plug to get to. The actual work only took about 15 minutes to drill, tap, and insert the bushing. I was...

    ECMRead and TunerPro

Open up a fuel map either front or rear. Doesn't really matter, you will have to do this for both. Once the map is open, go to the top to the XDF tab, scroll down to "view/edit parameter xdf info...", go to the bottom to colums tab, and click the lsb first box on the right in the middle...

    Fairing screw tap size/pitch request

If I'm not mistaken just about all the bolts that hold plastics on are 1/4"x20tpi. I know the ones for the flyscreen and belt guards are.

    Flat tire...

I just plugged mine. I got a staple in it at 200 miles, and a screw at 3000 miles. Plugged both and had to replace the tire at 4000 miles when it was wore out. Both plugs held fine. My puncture were both just off center, one on the left and one on the right. I mostly just use my bike for...

I listened and had the Q2 put on the wheel. We'll see how it goes on stick and mileage. Thanks guys

    Mixing Tires

After getting my tire off and looking at it closely, I am due a tire for sure, but it looks like I might have gotten a rock or something stuck between my tire and swingarm. There are 2 gouges that go down to the steel belts, the rest of the tire is worn, but not worn down to the belts. After...

    Mixing Tires

On my way home today, and had to make a stop. When I came back out to get on my bike, I noticed something shiny on my rear tire. It was the steel belts. I was wondering how big a sin it would be to mix tires. Like most, I go through two rears to one front. Don't get me wrong, the stock...

    How do I do this...

If you have a garage, you could try lifting it from the rafters with ratchet straps or a come-along.

    bike isn't starting

Might want to start swapping around relays. It sounds like it might be a relay, or the kill switch (which I really doubt).

    TunerPro Update

I was able to go online with my ecm using TunerPro RT on my 09 xb12. I did some logging, no information, just logging, and it seems to be recording. I exported the log to .csv to use in Megalog. I only have one question, how do I get an msq file for my bike. Do you use ecmspy and save the maps?

Can't Get Exhaust off STILL - Pix Added...

You can use a spark plug socket, and turn it around backwards. You would put a 3" extension thru it to use with a ratchet.
